eh....

I loved the first book for those *scenes* because sometimes they actually made my jaw drop and the build up to the scene kept me on edge. When the second book popped up I had no hesitation to listen to it. This book is good and the voice actors are fine but it's boring. It's mostly just day to day details and feelings but not really sexy at all. I have three hours left to listen and the scenes that have happened are so dull you miss it if you're already doing something, it's like you don't even know it's happening. This is just me personally there are good reviews of this book and some do enjoy it but it's just too much talking not enough action for me.

I am doing my re-read in preparation for the new release of the 3rd book in series coming out next week. This story centers on Kythel and Millie. Kythel is the twin brother of Azar from Book 1. You can listen to this as a stand alone, but I do recommend starting with the first book for full effect. Azar does come into this story. Kythel is the peacemaker of his family. He is carrying a burden in his heart from his past that makes he even more rigid and controlled about his responsibilities. Millie, on the other hand, was raised by a single father for the most part, and we are meeting her shortly after his passing. Millie has explored other regions/ planets in the somewhat nomadic life she had with her father. She goes with the flow and does not take anything for granted. She is trying to fulfill the dying wish of her father when she meets Kythel. Kythel recognizes her as his blood mate, but he is suppose to have an arranged marriage to strengthen politically and business related bonds to another influential family. Once again, Zoey's word building skills are amazing. I can see the imagines in my head when listening to her stories. The couples she writes about develop a relationship and mutual respect for each other of the course of the book. The storyline is always intriguing with some drama and angst added in. Her stories have romance to the storylines. I cannot wait for the next story to come to audiobook. The narrators are fantastic- I forgot to mention this is a duet style narration, so Veronica reads not only Millie's POV, but also any female lines spoken while Marcio read's Kythel's POV and any male spoken parts. It really makes the story even more enjoyable.

Lovely love story

Great characters and character arcs. Believable timelines, and the spice is on point for me.

I have listened to books 1 and 2 at least 3 times. Very enjoyable.

Zoey is very quickly becoming one of my favorite sci-fi authors. I love this series so much, and I’m not sure which one I like more between books one and two. Veronica and Marcio did a fabulous job in this audio as well. I loved Marcio in book one and knew he would do an amazing job in book two as well. This is the first audio I’ve listened to it Veronica’s and she did incredible!

Millie grew up as the adopted human daughter of traveling Kylorr chef. She traveled to all the galaxies and worlds immersing herself in difference cultures. When her father passed she made him a promise that she would bring his body back to Krynn (a planet/galaxy) where he can be at rest with the woman he once loved. For Millie, that means she needs to find the means of bringing him there. She’s working at basically a bloodbank for vampire gargoyle berserker aliens when she meets Kythel, the ruler of Erzos, which is basically like the (country/kingdom) they’re on/in.

The first time Kythel sees Millie, he knows she is his blood mate. He tries to keep his distance but he can’t, so he forms a friendship with her. Eventually their friendship costs her her job and the only place she has to turn is to him for help. They make a deal that she would be his blood source for one month only and then they would go their separate ways because he is duty bound to marry another noble to strengthen their country’s allegiances with war on the horizon. What will happen when their month is up? Will Millie be able to get her dad to Krynn as his last wish?

good ending

like the ending but it was a slow slow slow start and middle ... the first book was the best...

wonderful audiobook reading of my favorite Zoey Draven series

The Brides of Kylorr is my favorite Zoey Draven series: sci-fi mixed with gothic fantasy romance, fated mates/rejected mate, longing, groveling, and bites that make the fated one big O. It’s perfection. Millie is perfection; I love a FMC who is experienced in the world, who takes care of herself, but still has that sunny optimism. Kythel is the disciplined MMC who functions on rules and order, punishing himself for a family’s tragedy, the dummy who I loved to get frustrated at only to have him redeem himself in the end. I loved Veronica Pace’s reading of Millie; she has an adorable raspiness and truly brought out Millie’s sunny disposition. Marcio Catalano, who also voiced book 1, has the perfect deep gravelly voice one would want in their big vampiric winged horned wealthy powerful alien. I recommend this audio book 100%. I played on 1.2x speed - which was the perfect pace for me.

Loved the first Book and had to get the second one ASAP. Great Book! I can’t wait for book three on audible.

Love everything this author writes

There’s nothing I didn’t like about this book. I absolutely love her writing style. “The sun dipped below the moss on the weathered roof, dipping below the horizon, creating a purple band of dancing colors” that’s not an exact quote from the book, but something like that, was one of my favorite lines. I love how easy it is to get lost into the beautiful world she creates. I can picture everything about this planet. She gives just enough beautiful detail, without it being too much, & without it becoming annoying “filler.” I also love that it’s a duet between the narrators. (Not really sure how to use duet in a sentence) Also, the explicit scenes are soooo good. She writes them perfectly to where you find yourself actually reading/listening to the entire part, instead of skipping over. I absolutelyLOVE this author! Can’t wait to read more of her books.

I almost didn’t listen but glad I did.

If you liked book 1 this is just as good with less spicy bits but still a wonderful world to be engrossed in. It’s worth getting.
