Thanks, Jay Lake

I'm going to submit the same review for all three short stories in this series, "Coming for Green," "People of Leaf and Branch," and "A Water Matter." They are all well-crafted stories that let us get to know characters who more or less acted in the background of the Green trilogy. They also further explain the complex workings of the Green universe in a satisfying way.

We lost Jay Lake too soon, and I'm so grateful that he was able to offer these stories before he passed. Grateful also that Katherine Kellgren was available for the narration. She is so expressive, and truly captures the spirit of this series.

#greed!

The idea of selling the story for one credit per chapter is BS. This is just a way to make more money!😢

Great short story by a great author

Jay Lake is sorely missed! I love the Green Universe and first learned of it through Metropolis. Jay was the glue that held that Universe together. I found this book because I like Jay's work in the other series. I'm jumping into the middle of a series and it was good. I would liked to have seen where Jay would have taken this series. Maybe someone else will come along and finish his work.

For those wanting to read this book remember it was supposed to be part of a larger work and you can read it stand alone or part of the series. Either way it's great!

Decadent introduction to a steampunk Punjabi world

What a feast for the ears! The narration is richly accented with an Indian flair, making everything
feel exotic. This book’s MC is Sama, who sails on a ship of rogues in her quest to find Green.
So good, I’ve wishlisted book 1, featuring Green and forecasting fierce gals and epic adventure.

I do note an odd sex focus, with speculation on who’s the catamite and writing describing a color as “pink, like the inside of a girl’s sex.” From some of the book 1 reviews, it sounds like things go further into FF relations and taboo teacher/student relations. Thus, although much of it feels YA, parts of this series clearly are not.

Finally, this novella is part of an 18 hr collection of this author’s shorts titled The Sky That Wraps. I found that collection to be on the average and random end, with only a few stories that called to me.
