Acerca de esta escucha
You are not cursed, you are only codependent.
There are many people who don't know the difference between being in a healthy relationship and being in one that is codependent. You have simply gone from one unsatisfactory situation to the next without being able to control the situation. This audiobook delves into why people feel this inadequacy and depend upon relationships that are at best unsatisfactory, and at worst positively abusive. You don't need to be hit on a regular basis to be abused. However, when you let someone else dictate the course of your life, based upon their own unrealistic viewpoint, you may as well package your life into a box and give it away. Codependent people do that. When you listen through this audiobook, you will find solutions.
Here is a preview of what you'll find:
- Assessment test - codependency
- Understand: what is codependency?
- Evaluating self
- Recapturing your small ambitions
- Codependency in the workplace
- Setting yourself free
- Volunteerism
- Learning to say no
- Caregiving versus caretaking
- Boundaries
- Recovery from codependence
Readers are advised to follow the exercises and to write down their progress in the following areas:
- Self-esteem
- Knowing the difference between caretaking and caregiving
- Changing approach toward boundaries
- Working toward freedom from the chains of codependency
- Codependency in the workplace
- Codependency when caring for the elderly
- Codependency within a relationship
The information in this audiobook gives examples, and listeners can easily adapt the exercises to suit their individual circumstances, making it valuable for those looking for solutions to unsatisfactory relationships with others which can be classed as codependent.

Historia
Codependency is a relationship in which one person needs to rely on others for self-worth or approval. This relationship can cause anxiety or shame that keeps one from focusing on one’s own needs and desires. It can also lead one to feel entitled and jealous when the codependent partner doesn’t share some priority they perceive themselves to have in their life. Codependency can be characterized by having an attitude of “shoulding” on another person. Communicating this self-perceived problem can lead to an improved relationship between the two people involved.

Compassion and empathy
Title: Co-dependency Cure for the Soul
Author: Steve Martin
In a world where emotional struggles are often misunderstood or dismissed, ‘Co-dependency for the Soul’ stands out as a compassionate and insightful guide to understanding and healing co-dependency. With warmth and empathy, Steve Martin invites readers on a journey of self-awareness, offering practical tools and gentle encouragement to break free from patterns that no longer serve them.
What makes this book truly remarkable is the author’s non-judgmental tone. Instead of labeling co-dependency as a flaw, Steve Martin approach it as a coping mechanism rooted in care and connection. This perspective not only helps readers feel seen and understood, but also empowers them to cultivate healthier relationships without shame.
The book blends personal stories, psychological insights, and actionable advice, making it a valuable resource for anyone navigating co-dependent tendencies. Whether you’re seeking to better understand yourself or support a loved one, this book provides a compassionate framework for growth and healing.
A must-read for those who crave freedom from emotional entanglements and long for deeper, more fulfilling relationships.
