Took me by surprise

I thought I knew who and what but boy was I surprised. I will be waiting for the next book with anticipation.

Storyline

This book was amazing! The storyline kept me hooked from the first page! I am so looking forward to the next book!!!

Messed up cliff hanger but good read

So good story line until it wasn’t. The ending left too much to wonder about. Good read though

Very good indeed! Suspenseful and you never gain traction for long! Until you read on!

The unpredictable cast of characters.

Mind blown with all the twists and turns. Some books of this genre drag on too long. Not the case with this selection.

It was good, ending great

I did like the book. As far as the storyline and the pacing went. The exception was character development. There would have to be some significant unveiling as the story progressed but there didn’t seem like there was enough in the beginning to make a really good connection. Overall it did not derail the story and the ending is awesomely unexpected.

Both narrators did a great job conveying the characters voices and personalities.

Circle of Strangers by Minka Kent is pretty good once you get to the halfway mark. I loved the reveals, the game of cat and mouse, and the twist. However, before this point, the neighbors Sozi and Mara were too similar for me to fully keep track of, which took away from my initial enjoyment. Also, the title is said by characters twice in the book in unnatural ways, which was distracting. That said, I will definitely read the next book in this series.

Renata Friedman as Camille and Chris Ciulla as Will are enjoyable to listen to.

Circle of Strangers - Book 2 by Minka Kent

What I loved the most about this series is the notion of exploring sociopathy with a human voice on the other side. Kent created a persona in Camille that people could relate to and that made it believable.

She gave her tools to cope, a husband and two children. A family. Something she had to protect, because let’s face it: sociopaths crave control and they are loyal to the core. Camille showed it over and over.

This spin in Circle of Strangers, is quite entertaining but it exposes a new reality for Camille, her children and all of us readers. It was an unexpected plot twist and it’s too premature to deliver my final thoughts.

I guess I’ll have to wait for the next book to make up my mind about this series. Let’s see how Kent plays her game!

Another Great book!

I love Minka Kent, I have read all but 2 of her books so far and love them all. This was a second book in the Imaginary Strangers series, I loved the second one and was excited to get into this one. I did like it, I love neighborhood/friendship drama, that’s my favorite kind of book so this was right up my alley. It was good! It picked up right away and kept me interested throughout! I did not guess what was going to happen, it kept me intrigued. I did feel like it jumped around at times like I felt like I missed something to go back and see I hadn’t, kind of choppy I guess? It ends on a cliffhanger alluding to there being probably a third and final book where they come head to head. I don’t know that I loved how this turned into her and Will against each other but we will see how it ends. It reminds me of The Arrangement trilogy by Kiersten Modglin in that they are both lying to the other and essentially living a fake life and now will go head to head, against each other. Can’t wait for the third book!
