Resumen del Editor

The concept of reincarnation has been around for thousands of years and is a part of many religions, including Hinduism, Buddhism, Jainism, and Sikhism. In addition to these religious beliefs, many people believe it offers an explanation for the mysteries of life. There are children that claim to remember previous lives as adults or even animals. These claimed memories might affect the development of the child and be incorporated into the child's personality.

This book presents an in-depth look at Dr. Stevenson's 40 years studying children who claim to remember previous lives. It is an informative, professional listen that dispels common misconceptions about reincarnation and offers an open-minded perspective. It provides an overview of the history of the belief in and evidence for reincarnation, with new material relating to birthmarks and birth defects, independent replication studies, and recent developments in genetic study. It also covers research on children, the methods used, the cases studied, and the analyses of the data. The idea of reincarnation is explored as an explanation for some unsolved problems in psychology and medicine.

This brand-new audio edition is expertly narrated by Scott Pollak.

Very interesting book

Very interesting and compelling cases of reincarnation presented with extreme care and academic rigor by the author, remaining impartial and non moralistic in its narrative. Amazing concepts and stories from all over the world. I especially liked the cross cultural study of reincarnation that I had no previous knowledge about. Kudos for the in depth research and precise description without any ideological agenda. It is a great contribution to human knowledge in a very contentious area of social science.

Detailed & Scientific

Analysis of potential cases of reincarnation, and the scientific methods used. Presentation of theories about different aspects of cases is thorough. Interesting at times, but also dry, listeners need to be attentive to catch all nuances and details.

Very well written and well read

This book is very thorough and well written. The narrator was very easy to listen to. I only wish it contained more than 14 detailed cases.

Not credible

I was curious. Now I’m just irritated. Way too many instances where the case discussed is offered as an example of reincarnation because, well, Dr. Stevenson or the people involved believe in reincarnation. Silly correlations such as liking the same food as the dead person. Face value acceptance of statements of “memories” or the merit of a dream (don’t we have abundant examples where we know a dream is not real?). So gullible. I could go on but suffice it to say, if this is the best he can do, I’m even less inclined to believe than I was before. What a waste of my time and money.
