More than 90 percent of sexually active women have only been given a very limited amount of information about how birth control works, often right at the beginning when they start their first pill or patch. Not all of us enjoy biology lessons, and figuring out the complexities of hormones, cycles, and our bodies can feel a little too much. But it doesn’t need to be rocket science. Getting a better insight into how your body really works can empower you and open up choices and possibilities so that you make the best decisions for yourself. After all, this is your body!

Millions of people are suffering from chronic illnesses that, unbeknownst to them, are the result of exposure to environmental toxins and infectious agents such as mold and Borrelia, which causes Lyme disease. Millions. Because the symptoms of these illnesses are so varied and unusual, many of these individuals have sought medical care only to be dismissed, as if what they are experiencing is “in their head”. Many (if not most) have tried to tough it out and continue to function without hope of improvement. Unfortunately, their illnesses are very real.

The authors of Niacin: The Real Story are advocates of orthomolecular (nutrition-based) medicine, supporting an approach to wellness that involves substances that naturally occur in the human body. This book makes the case for the widespread use of niacin for the prevention and treatment of health problems. In Niacin: The Real Story, listeners will discover how to take niacin, with detailed recommendations on forms and therapeutic doses.

The only thing predictable about menopause is its unpredictability. Factor in widespread misinformation, a lack of research, and the culture of shame around women's bodies, and it's no wonder women are unsure what to expect during the menopause transition and beyond. Menopause is not a disease - it's a planned change, like puberty. And just like puberty, we should be educated on what's to come years in advance, rather than the current practice of leaving people on their own with bothersome symptoms and too much conflicting information.

Healthy testosterone levels are not only a physical state of prime health, but a mental state of positive wellness and aggression. A man with low testosterone will experience not only a physical decline, but also a diminished quality of life. Testosterone is often misrepresented by the media at large as inciting "hostility", or its effects are reduced down to building muscle only, and it's portrayed as being detrimental to health. Resumen del Editor
There are many general books on menopause. But this book is for those who want to know more than the basics. The information in Can I Speak to the Hormone Lady is based on scientific studies, 40 years experience as a pharmacist, and my work as a hormone specialist for over 10 years. Some have referred to me as “The Hormone Lady”.
As a pharmacist, I have knowledge of prescription and non-prescription menopause treatment, including herbal medications. I have also learned from and for the hundreds of hormone clients I treated over the years, many of whom came to me after experiencing problems with standard prescription treatments. In addition to referenced information and detailed descriptions of hormones and how they work, I have included the system for analyzing hormone imbalances I successfully used in my practice for years, with easy to read explanations of what to look for and what it all means.
The purpose of my book is to enable women to understand what is happening when hormones become imbalanced, and what they can do to get back to normal.

If so, you may be experiencing symptoms of premenopause. Even if you're a decade or more away from menopause, your hormones may already be out of balance, usually caused by an excess of estrogen and a deficiency of progesterone, say the authors of What Your Doctor May Not Tell You About Pre-Menopause.
