Resumen del Editor

What did C. S. Lewis think about Truth, Goodness, and Beauty? The 15 essays collected here explore these three major philosophical themes from the writings of Lewis. This volume provides a comprehensive overview of Lewis’ philosophical thinking on arguments for Christianity, the character of God, theodicy, moral goodness, heaven and hell, a theory of literature, and the place of the imagination.

Reseñas de la Crítica

“The essays in this collection cast plenty of light on the thinking of the man who was probably the greatest Christian apologist of the twentieth century.” ( Church Newspaper)
“The essay by Jean Bethke Elshtain, explicating The Abolition of Man, is so powerfully written and exquisitely reasoned as to make it alone worth the cost of the entire book.” ( Christian Librarian)

Some great, some OK

As with any collection of essays some were great and some not so great. I expect appreciation will vary from person to person.

A wonderful Lewis review

This is a great book. I have listened to it twice and read it and probably will read parts of it again. It brings out points that I didn't see and reminds me of the great things all over again. I especially enjoy the narrator, Ralph Cosham. He has become the voice of C. S. Lewis to me.

I love this book!

This is one of my favorite books that I've read in the last couple years. this is a book for people who like to think deeply. I found a lot of spiritual value in each chapter. It also made me consider deeply some topics I had not pondered before. As an avid CS Lewis fan, I also thoroughly enjoyed learning about some writings of his I had not read before.

Over My Head

Would you listen to C. S. Lewis as Philosopher again? Why?

Yes. I need to study it in order to grasp at least a little more each time

What was the most compelling aspect of this narrative?

Hearing what C.S. Lewis might have said to certain questions based on what he said in his writings.

Which character – as performed by Ralph Cosham – was your favorite?

N/A

Any additional comments?

I have no training in philosophy so much of the vocabulary and concepts went over my head but I want to understand it so will listen again to catch more and know where I need to do more research. C.S. Lewis is my favorite Christian apologist and author for both fiction and non-fiction.

Heavy on Philosophical Debate, Light on Lewis

Where does C. S. Lewis as Philosopher rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

Toward the bottom

What does Ralph Cosham bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

love his erudite accent...what I would imagine of old-world philosophers.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

Not a book for film

Any additional comments?

I was expecting more CS Lewis and less philosophical jawboning
