Enjoyed this audio!

Kendall is a sweet character who finds his boyfriend in bed with the neighbor. He moves in with his sister and her boyfriend while she is away. Luke has a secret….and is finding it hard to stay away from Kendall. This is a sweet story. I did think Luke could have been more present in the relationship but I guess that is his hang-up too. He was just a bit flat.

Exactly what I needed

I won a copy of this book and I’m so glad I did. It was exactly the sweet and fun story I needed for a recent road trip and I expect to listen to it again when I need a happy book. Listening to Kendall and Luke fall for each other was so much fun. The narration was amazing and really brought this story to life!

Love this!

Brother in Law Material is a beautifully written, fake boyfriend, close proximity story about Kendall and Luke. Kendall needs a place to stay after walking in on his boyfriend and their neighbor. He goes to his sister, Keira's place that she happens to share with Luke, her best friend who Kendall thinks is her boyfriend. Keira isn't there but on a supposed business trip in Japan. I love the complexity of this story. There are layers upon layers of truth and deceit that need to be filtered through. I love Kendall and Luke's connection. They're familiar with each other and it shows. Kendall asks Luke to attend a work party as his fake boyfriend, with Keira's blessing, to get back at his ex, who he happens to work with. Luke agrees to attend and they meet Luke's cousin Mizuki there. I adored Mizuki from the first time we meet him. He's such a fun character and definitely needs his own story. It's at this party that Luke realizes he may have more than friendly feelings for Kendall but his history with relationships is complicated. I love Luke and Kendall together as they figure out all their feelings and what they want. This book is one to enjoy again and again. Definitely recommend.
Narrator Michael Ferraiuolo does an amazing job. He's always a treat to listen to and continues to be one of my favorite narrators.

Fantastic as ever

I love reading books by Crystal Lacy. I've loved every single one, and this is no exception. And oh my gosh the sex was hot! Whew! I also really appreciated all the little details. It made it feel so real, in the best ways.

Sweet listen!

This is such a sweet listen. I love Luke and Kendall! I love seeing how these two get together. Then Michael Ferraiuolo does an amazing job with the narration. I love listening to his voice. He brings so much life into this already amazing story. Such a fun listen!

Enthusiasm is an act of bravery

Kendall is a perpetual diver. He dives into life, and he dives into love. Luke, on the other hand, is terrified of turning into a philandering a*hole like his dad, and has decided love isn't for him. It isn't the most original plot in the world, but Luke and Kendall are interesting, engaging and likeable, and I enjoyed their story very much. Now looking for more by Crystal Lacy!

loved it!!

This was super fun to listen to!! I loved Kendall and all his sunshine. He was so upbeat even after finding his boyfriend cheating on him. I loved that he had no filter, sooo funny! Luke was the opposite, big, growly and broody. Therefore they were perfect for one another even if Luke is Kendall’s sister’s boyfriend! I seriously loved this story, sooo good! I loved the hot, steaminess and chemistry between Luke and Kendall! I loved Luke’s cousin Mizuki; I hope he gets a story too!! Michael Ferraiuolo did a fantastic job with the narration!!

Sweet and Steamy

A sweet Hallmarkish MM romance with a good dose of steam/heat. Like and Kendall are made for each other and you fall in love with them from the very beginning. The narration only adds to the many things to love about the audio.

Luke and Kendall's Best-Friend's-Brother Romance

‘Brother-in-Law Material’ is a cute, fairly short novel that tells the best-friend’s-younger-brother love story of Luke and Kendall. When Kendall’s boyfriend cheats on him, he temporarily moves into Luke’s apartment Will the close-proximity cause sparks to fly?

Both Luke and Kendall are likeable characters. Kendall is especially adorable due to a sunshine-y personality and his enthusiasm for improving his food blog/channel. With Luke, though, Crystal Lacy does a disservice to his character by not diving deeper into his emotional issues surrounding his commitment phobia.

Overall, the story is a nice low-angst romance that i found enjoyable, but I felt it was a little too superficial. I might have liked it more if Lacy had done one of two things: 1) shorten it to a meet-cute, insta-love type of story, or 2) lengthen it to add more depth to Luke’s past relationships.

Michael Ferraiuolo delivers a good performance in narration. I liked the interpretation of Kendall’s character a lot. There are a few instances that cause confusion as to which character is speaking.

I requested and received a free review copy of this audiobook and am now posting my honest opinions about it.
