Bridget Jones, beloved Singleton and global phenomenon, is back with a bump in Bridget Jones's Baby: The Diaries.

8:45 P.M. Realize there have been so many times in my life when have fantasized about going to a scan with Mark or Daniel: just not both at the same time.

Before motherhood, before marriage, Bridget with biological clock ticking very, very loudly, finds herself unexpectedly pregnant at the eleventh hour: a joyful pregnancy which is dominated, however, by a crucial but terribly awkward question – who is the father? Mark Darcy: honourable, decent, notable human rights lawyer? Or Daniel Cleaver: charming, witty, notable fuckwit?

9:45 PM It’s like they’re two halves of the perfect man, who’ll spend the rest of their lives each wanting to outdo the other one. And now it’s all enacting itself in my stomach.

In this gloriously funny, touching story of baby-deadline panic, maternal bliss, and social, professional, technological, culinary and childbirth chaos, Bridget Jones – global phenomenon and the world’s favorite Singleton – is back with a bump.

Reseñas de la Crítica

"A comic ménage à trois… Well paced and well crafted... Charming.” Molly Young, The New York Times Book Review

“’What would the Dalai Lama do?’ Bridget asks herself when she arrives 15 minutes late to the christening of her friend Magda’s baby in the opening pages of Fielding’s fourth entry in this still-funny series about everyone’s favorite dizzy British blonde… One hopes the Dalai Lama gets his hands on this book as soon as possible. If he can’t clear up the morality questions, he’ll at least get a good laugh.” –Kirkus

I wish it was longer. I love every single book and movie. It will always be a comfort story for me.

I have read/listened to/watched every installment of this series with the exception of this book. I must admit, going in I was skeptical; knowing it had been written after Mad About The Boy... .but I truly lived it. the same endearing feeling was kept in this book and the author managed to leave it open for the final book to be made. I still cheered along, I still talked to myself as Bridget would....and I still hoped for her and Darcy's happy ending. Well done Mrs. Fielding

Loved it

Every now and then I like to rotate fun reading with more intense material and this story was great fun to listen to and relax with. I've read Mad About the Boy and I wasn't keen on it but now I think that was only because there was a missing link. Here it is. Makes sense of the last book published on Bridget Jones character.

If anyone saw the movie version it isn't too far off the book. They were both light entertainment.

Narration was good, flowed easily and spunky.

What a fun and sweet follow up!

It was both an entertaining and fun story regarding triumphs and iniquities of love and life.

Some uniquely funny storylines that can only be experienced by a character like Bridget Jones.

It is a classic Bridget book, as #3. 3hr audio, fast hardback, or 1.5 movie. All good for the series

Good, quick read

As an American, I didn't understand everything. But knowing the Bridget Jones series, I found it hilarious.

Hilarious!

Me gustó más Imogene Church.
Hubo errores ... como por ejemplo el hermano de Mark desaparece acá ... y Jude ...

Disonancias entre personajes

I hadn’t any idea there were more books n the Bridget Jones series. I was pleasantly surprised I had no problem picking up the story after so many years since the last book ( my fault it was so long). Thoroughly enjoyed the story, funny and honest as Bridget and her gang always are. Great story and great pace.

I was really afraid to hear the audio book because I loved the movie so much. What if the book tainted the movie or tainted my perception of a character? It's like when you found out about Mark Darcy in the third book ... that was a horrible day.

Verdict: I love the movie. I like the book. I don't know if I favor the movie instead of the book because the movie came out first but I really enjoyed the movie's story line. Patrick Dempsey's character was a breathe of fresh air. (The movie did follow some of the events and conversations in the book.)

"Bridget Jones's Baby: The Diaries" was a pleasant listen. I found myself laughing at times and hating Daniel as much as I did before. I'm still having a hard time believing though that Bridget would sleep with Daniel again after all that he put her through, not to mention what he put Mark Darcy through. I finished the audio book in an afternoon, while I was working on a work document (because the audio book is an easy listen - you don't need to be a genius to follow the story line while you're doing something else.)

The movie is better!
