In the OCD book, the chapter on 'Identifying Your OCD Subtype' got me thinking what mine could be. I didn't realize how much knowing your exact patterns could shape how you handle them. Reading about things like harm I related OCD or reassurances seeking behaviors was interesting because I saw some of my own patterns and behaviors. What I liked most is that it didn't just describe the struggles but also pointed out tools like exposure therapy and mindfulness that match each subtype. it gave me a way of looking at OCD as something I can map out and respond to, rather than this foggy, undefined weight.
Together, the two books made me feel like ADHD and OCD don't have to be these chaotic mysteries. They gave me concrete tools to test and a different way of seeing my quirks, not as failures, but patterns I can understand and work with.
