Good story terrible narrator

Better to read the book I think. The narrator was monotone and annoying to listen to.

The story was lovely. The relationships between the sisters and their mothers really resonated. It was tormented and sweet.

I didn’t care for the voice of the narrator. Although the book has beautiful prose and the narrators accents was the native tongue of the main characters it was choppy and distracting to the telling of the story.

Horrible narration

I am sorry for saying this but the narrator absolutely ruined this book for me. Her voice was monotone but what bothered me the most was when she would pause at awkward parts of a sentence that just completely disrupted the flow of the storytelling. I got through half before I gave up. The story was alright so far, nothing too special happened yet. I probably would have continued if the narration would have been better.

Overrated story

This make all the rounds but I found the story to be flat and predictable. As someone who is on a journey through grief I’m not sure the author has gone through one yet. The experiences with grief seemed very canned.

The biggest dislike with this story, as mentioned, is the narrator. Too many dialects and forced accents.

Family dynamics and relationships

Strong character development. Very heavy storylines re: addiction. Beautiful ending to a heavy storyline. Especially powerful if you have sisters.

Messy sisters

The story of grief was hard and the author paints a clear picture of all of the sisters. They’re all messes though maybe relatable, who isn’t, but it also seemed like these sisters really liked to revel in their messes.

Too Long!

Good story and dialogue about siblings and addiction. But too long wrapping things up. I would have cut 4 hours to make it consise and satisfying. Let's get this show on the road!

Couldn’t finish- Narration awful

I really wanted to listen to this book and was looking forward to it so much. I’m only on chapter 3, but I can’t keep listening because the narrator is reading with such a flat and distracting manner. It’s torturous and I can’t listen anymore.

Terrible narration

I couldn’t finish the book because the narration was so hard to listen to. Disappointing!

Beautifully captures family dynamics and the unbreakable bond between sisters.

I absolutely loved this novel. The depth of the characters, the poignant reflections and the very real storyline that feels both relatable and personal.
