This book is everything

This book is so incredible! I decided to review it for an assignment in school—even though I read it in July—so I decided to listen to it (or immersive read it) this time around and WOW! I loved this story, and I loved how Harbison narrated this novel; she nailed all the accents (I think) and really brought this story to life. Don’t judge me for crying again.

I laughed, I cried and enjoyed every minute of this feel good story! This book reminds us what is truly important in life. All of us have challenges and grief to overcome but we also can choose to find joy!

Ohh my heart

It was sooooo good!!! I laughed, I cried, I wanted more when it was over but only because I didn't want it to end. the ending was very well done. wholesome. Can't wait to read more by this author.

Unexpected Story

I listened to this book because it was recommended by Haley Pham on YouTube. I realize now I’m not the intended audience for this book. I’m a conservative Christian so this review may only apply to others like me, and here’s what you should know if that’s you. There actually *is* a spicy scene. Just one, and easy enough to skip. I let it go on a bit too long because I didn’t realize it would go as far as it did, but I could tell even with me skipping every 30 seconds that it went far. I avoid those kinds of books so I wouldn’t have read it if I had known. It also didn’t have a fairy tale ending as I hoped it would. I didn’t expect this book to be such a crier! If I had known it would end how it did, I would have avoided it. But that’s a me problem. I just don’t like to be sad. Narratively, it worked really well and I’m impressed by the writing. The mysteries were satisfying by the end. I didn’t connect with the protagonist like I wanted to, she’s just not like me at all, but it was fun at least to hang out with her for a while.
The author is very gifted. I loved her way of weaving the story together, and she phenomenal in her reading performance. The accents were gorgeous, and she gave everyone their own voice. Even the man sounded good.
I hope this helps! Good book but I won’t be rereading it.

I absolutely loved this book. Magical realism and alternate universe are my favorite genres and this did not disappoint. I also loved how the author narrated it.

epilogue tied it up in a satisfying bow

very enjoyable, and the epilogue made sure it was perfect. makes you want a second epilogue.
