Interesting romance

Bind Me is a fantasy novel in the Immortal Vices and Virtues universe, but can be read as a standalone.

Sasha and Kaden were both strong willed characters, and I enjoyed them individually as well as a couple. The storyline was intriguing, steamy and full of action packed moments.

Lexi Evans and Eric Fox did wonderful job portraying these characters. The narration was fun.

More Chowder!

Sasha was a bounty hunter who fell victim to politics and found herself exiled to Norway. Having lived her entire life in South Africa, the cold lands should have felt foreign, but instead felt like home. And what should have been a fresh start is where her past caught up to her. When the suspect she's looking for leads her into the path of her true mate, Sasha and Kaden find themselves in the middle of a centuries-old family drama full of deception and danger.

A Kraken and mermaid romance - insta-love/lust and a mystery thriller. This could have benefited from a little more world-building and relationship-building. I know it is a shared world book but if marketed as a standalone, it needed more backstory. The pacing was erratic as well. It would drag and then a major plot point would be introduced and settled within pages. And although the focus was on Sasha, I felt that Kaden's character was more solid if not exactly always likable. However, both characters were overshadowed by the true star of the story - Chowder. He was the most interesting, entertaining, and adorable part of the story. I'm pretty sure I could read an entire story about this talking otter!

This story was narrated by Lexi Evans and Eric Fox. Both were excellent when relating the story, but Lexi was too much when 'acting out' the emotions. Again, my favorite was Chowder. Such a cute little voice.

More than I bargained for!

This is a wonderful book that captivated me from the beginning. I have not read a lot in this series and did not feel like I was behind or missing anything. I enjoyed all the characters in here! They each have a troubled past that catches up with them. I loved all the various creatures that show up in here. They make the book exciting. Especially Chowder! Lexi Evans and Eric Fox did the narration. Both did an excellent job at all of the characters they had to portray.

omg I have to admit that I think this is my favorite in all the series, and my all time favorite character is Chowder, I just love that little otter. I want one lol. this book was a good one you guys are going to love it. I promise.

Shadow Shifter Romantasy

Bind Me by Mila Young is a shadow shifter romantasy that I listened to on audio narrated by Lexi Evans and Eric Fox. This book is set in the Immortal Vices and Virtues universe and can be read as a standalone.

This is the second book of Mila’s that I have read, and it definitely won’t be my last. I really enjoyed the relationship between Kaden and Sasha. But I have to say Chowder stole the show in this book. I loved him! I loved getting both of their points of views throughout the book. It really brought the story to life.

Eric and Lexi did an amazing job on the narration. They both really know how to bring a story to life. I look forward to listening to more of their work in the future.

I would recommend this book if you’re looking for a shifter fantasy romance.

Bind Me is another standalone book in the Immortal Vices and Virtues: Shadow Shifter Bonds series. All of these books in this series can all be read as standalones. They are in the same world and a have some crossover moments, but you never feel like you are missing things.

Lexi Evans and Eric Fox did a great job narrating this book.

What is Love?

The story begins with the introduction to female character as a child who sustains incredible loss and heartbreak. The male character has also had heartbreak in his youth and now must find his fated mate or become an uncontrollable creature
Both main characters are lovable and you want to see them find a happy ending.
Mythical creatures are abundant
Have to say I absolutely loved Chowder!!!! Voice was perfect

CHOWDER IS LIFE! I mean… Real title: An Ocean of Magic, Mystery, and Magnetism

This is my third book in the “Immortal Vices and Virtues” series (they don’t have to be read in any order.) And I must say, this one was my favorite.

I’ve always loved the lore of mermaids and this story does if in an engaging way that is easy to understand. We start with a prologue that will sink your heart to the depths of despair. Be prepared!

Our leading kick-butt warrior, Sasha, is determined to track and defeat scum for her organization and is ace at it. But when her target gets away because she was saving tormented animals for experimentation and a fire, she is relocated to Norway for a year.

With her mermaid tail tucked between her legs, she figured she’d just take her sentence and work on her next case. Never did she imagined she’d meet her fated mate (a concept in all these books) while hanging from a trap he set for intruders while investigating his mansion!

Caden had is own watery connections and his own problems. After being forced to be born and live in Tartarus for a thousand years for “supposed” crimes his grandfather committed, he’s determined to reclaim his family home, clear his grandfather’s name, and maybe find true love along the way. Seems normal for a powerful shifter (no spoilers on the type.)

Sasha and Caden’s dynamic is electric in every way, from their snark to their sensual, they’re serious to their steamy, it’ll wash over you with giddy bubbles or delicious stream. They truly were an engaging, entertaining, and believable ship (pun meant.)

I thought the plot flew nicely overall. Did feel the last 80 minutes was a bit rushed, but a lot of books seem to be doing that. It was refreshing how even though they had lots of plot points on the stove, they all connected.

Sasha is feisty and kind. Haunted, but capable. I really respected her. And once again, my favorite narrator, Lexi Evans, portrayed her to perfection! Caden was rumbly and protective. Passionate. And his actor, Mr, Fox, gets my golden seal (ha) of approval there. I was blown away by his range of voices for all the characters he did.

Another book in this series where I fell for the side characters, this time Billi and her three mates (yes; you read that right.) I wish there was a book on how they met so much!

The little hints of this world is different than ours was done well once more. For example, Sasha freaking out to try a ‘delicacy’ of a near rare human dish called pizza was incredibly funny.

AND CHOWDER THE OTTER IS LIFE!!! So precious. So silly. Such a good boy. Soooooo cute!!! Best character! One million one ten!

I will say my only issue with this audiobook was the editing. I love PFP works now, but this is the 4-5 honest review I’ve given where the editing was an issue and distracting. Sometimes, the pauses were too long, sometimes almost not there. It often happened between switching between the two narrators for the too short pauses and Caden speaking lines were often way too long. It felt unnatural to listen to a good number of times and I either thought my file was messed up or I had to go back when lines were rushed together. I know everyone works hard, but it makes me sad for myself and the other listeners want to hear the story to its full light like the author and narrators planned.

Absolutely LOVED this one!

Mila Young writes some of the best action scenes I have read in a romance story. Her stories have everything- a fantastic storyline, humor (Kaden and Chowder), all the feels, action, and sexy time. I adore Kaden. He is in my top 5 book boyfriends. I love her story. I love his personality. Chowder gets best supporting character. The narrators did an amazing job- I love duet narration books to begin with, but I feel the character personalities really showed through in this one. Plus Chowder was fabulous! I am kinda sad I don't have anymore books to listen to in the series. I do hope there will be more. in meantime, I will be working through some of Mila's other series that are on audiobook.
