Resumen del Editor

It's been three years since the terrorist attacks on New York City, but FDNY widow Jamie Bryan keeps waking up to the same aching pain of that one Tuesday morning, when she lost her husband, Jake.

Determined to find meaning in her grief, Jamie pours her life into volunteer work at St. Paul's, the small memorial chapel across from where the Twin Towers once stood. In the stream of broken, grieving people who make their way through the church doors, Jamie connects with two men, a firefighter forever changed by the attacks, and a Los Angeles police officer.

Unsure and feeling somehow guilty, Jamie opens herself to the possibility of loving again. But a shocking revelation sends her reeling. How can this be the plan for her life?

Now only the persistence of a tenacious caring man, questions from Jamie's curious daughter, and words from Jake's treasured journal can move Jamie Byran beyond one Tuesday morning toward life.

Great book, Not great narration

I bought and read these books when they were released, years ago. I got the audible versions so I could "read" again, while working. I still love the stories (I ugly cried in the first one), but the female narrator impersonating male voices was beyond annoying. ESPECIALLY Clay's partner. Sounded like "he" had a mouth full of marbles or a tongue tie. If she'd have just read it straight, it wouldn't have been such a distraction from the story. Her reading was excellent for the females, I thought, and as someone who has done a lot of radio voiceovers, I found it pleasant. But the males... Should have just hired a guy or two to read the male parts of the story. Just my opinion.

The story was really good though. Compelling enough to get through the odd voices!

Learning to live again

This book was so good I had trouble putting it down.
I liked that Karen weaved in scripture and showed how God can make the impossible possible. She showed the love of God and how he enjoys answering his children’s prayers. She didn’t candy coat the pain that we all experience in this life, but showed how God walks us through our pain and comforts us, sometimes through others and sometimes through His word. God is good all the time.
Karen made the characters come to life, so much that they seem like friends or friends that I wish that I had. Though sometimes I thought the characters seemed too perfect. They had emotions of sadness and fear, but they never struggled with getting control of them in anger or sickness. Though I suppose the book would have been too long to add all that.
I really enjoyed this book.
I haven’t been to NYC since that awful day, though I’d gone many times before 2001. This book has given me a curiosity to visit again and see the changes. I wonder if there is a little church across from ground zero and if it still has some memorial things of that time period. I’ll definitely go in the church and prayer for those families and friends affected by the attacks. Though I pray for them on 9/11 every year anyway. It will be interesting to see the changes in Manhattan after all these years.

Sweet read

loved the storyline, and the narration, but didn't care for the change in the voice when God's words were spoken

NEOrtega83's Review

I definitely liked Tuesday Morning better than Beyond Tuesday Morning, but I really enjoyed hearing the follow up about Jamie and Clay. The only reason I gave the performance 3 stars was because it was obnoxious to me that when people were praying or talking in their heads, it was as if they were in a tunnel talking. Aside from that, I enjoyed it.

Terrible Narrator

I almost had to stop listening as the narrator was so bad . . . Her male voice and New York accent were the worst I have ever heard.

EXCELLENT READ

It's obvious from the other reviews that people are disappointed with Karen's books because of the "religious" tone so as long as you understand that's what you are getting, this book is EXCELLENT. I don't usually read fiction but couldn't put this one (and One Tuesday Morning) down until I was finshed. I am a Christian woman and love that there is a fiction book out there with so much Christian emphasis. This book actually helped me with my faith issues and helped me with my view of God. Actually changed it a little. So I highly recommend this book as long as you understand exactly what you are getting.

For once the sequel is better than the original

Would you listen to Beyond Tuesday Morning again? Why?

Yes I would listen to this book again because I enjoyed it so much it was a really very special love story

Have you listened to any of Kathy Garver’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

No

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I didn't want it to end ! I kept rewinding it listening to bits over and over again so that it would last longer. I was really sad to see it end.

Any additional comments?

I've listened to other titles by Karen Kingsbury this is by so far my favorite I actually didn't like some of the others so this one was something special

Voices are not pleasant

I love the book, but the narrator kills the vibe. Her deep male voices are annoying and pull you from the story. Would be better to use a male and female narrator as in the previous book...

Faith Overturning Tragedy

An excellent sequel to "One Tuesday Morning", Karen Kingsbury shows how one's personal faith in Christ can overcome even the most dire events that life can throw your way. I wouldn't have expected anything less from the author. Rather than living in the past and constantly dwelling on the personal loss from the fall of the Twin Towers, Jamie relies on her faith to go forward with her life. While her personal loss will always be a part of her, her faith carries her into the future. A truly inspiring novel about how faith and love can overcome tragedy and loss.
