Resumen del Editor

Former army grunt Jonah Browne was vacationing in Germany years ago, when the Molting began. Today, he’s a man tempered by his determination to keep his family safe from Molters, spending every waking moment defending against the bloodthirsty creatures.

But now, a new threat lurks near the cabin.

A community perseveres in those same German mountains. Desperate to survive, they are willing to sacrifice anyone - and often do. Their methods are barbaric, but the alternative means falling to the Molter horde.

Great series

I’ve listened now to the first three of this series and so far I really like it. I’ve listened to a lot of post apocalyptic books and most are all the same just different people ,same scenarios . I like this because it’s different instead of the same ol emp or virus it brings you monsters, some creature and some human. Something different and interesting. The main characters are likable and you can connect with them whereas some books I’ve read you really don’t care if they survive or not to be honest. Hyka, not sure if that’s spelled correctly or not lol, the 8 year old little girl reminds me a lot of my daughter Ellie who’s also 8 in so many ways so FYI to the writer I will be very upset if anything happens in future books to her. The narrator I think does awesome job with different voices as well . Long story short if you are looking for apocalyptic series, something out of the norm you won’t be disappointed and I definitely recommend this one. I was given this audiobook in exchange for honest and voluntary review. Can’t wait for the fourth one!

Alone, Cold and still alive.

This book takes place up in a mountain cabin. And a lot of work to stay alive. I wanted to know how the rest of the world was holding up. More army reaction and battles. Looks like the next book hold more for us. Still very entertaining, can't wait to see how we fight back.

Too much introspection

Being Hunted.
I liked the previous books in the series and thought the concept brilliant.
Though I found this book, The characters spend far too much time on introspection. Not enough action.
Narration is good.
I just hope that the next in the series gets back to a fast pace and more action - less talk.
I received a free copy of this audio book at my own request and voluntarily leave this honest review. .

Being Hunted

Introduction:
Greetings, fellow readers, from the icy tundras of HowlStrom! I am Kiba Snowpaw, your furry alpha lone male Ice Wolf, here to share my thoughts on "Being Hunted" by C.A. Gleason. This book had me gripping the edges of my frosty fur, and I can't wait to tell you why.

Basic Plot Summary:
In this frigid tale, we follow the indomitable Jonah Browne, a former soldier, as he continues to fight against the ever-encroaching Molters in a secluded mountain cabin. With winter coming to an end, the Molters grow more relentless, and Jonah's cabin is under constant threat. But the mystery in the Bavarian mountains surrounding him spells doom for humanity. To survive, Jonah must repair his fractured relationship with his true love, keep powerful weapons at hand, and uncover the looming mystery. As he dives deeper, he'll confront a truth he's always feared: nowhere is safe.

Analysis/Evaluation:
"Being Hunted" takes a different turn compared to its predecessor. While the first book was packed with action, this installment focuses more on the domestic life of Jonah and his efforts to protect his family. The pacing is slower, almost like a family drama set against a post-apocalyptic backdrop. It's not as heart-pounding as the first book, but it offers a different perspective on survival. However, it could benefit from a bit more action to balance things out.

Characters:
Jonah's character development continues in this book as he grapples with his past and the responsibilities of protecting his loved ones. While the character dynamics are well-explored, the story could introduce more diverse characters to add depth to the narrative.

Structure:
The story unfolds primarily in the cabin and revolves around Jonah's daily life, which, at times, feels repetitive. The pacing, as mentioned, leans toward a more contemplative tone.

Impact:
Despite the slower pace, "Being Hunted" still manages to capture the eerie essence of the Molter-infested world. It offers a different take on post-apocalyptic survival, focusing on family bonds and the toll of constant vigilance.

Hook and Thesis:
The story picks up right where the first book left off, promising more Molter mayhem. However, it evolves into a domestic drama with survival at its core. The thesis centers on the struggle to protect loved ones in a relentless world.

Praise:
The narration is commendable, with the performance enhancing the overall experience. The unique concept of Molters and the post-apocalyptic setting remain intriguing.

Critique:
The story could use more action to balance out the slow pace. It also needs an injection of diverse characters to enrich the narrative.

Comparison:
Compared to the first book, "Being Hunted" offers a different, albeit slower, perspective on survival. It focuses on domesticity and relationships rather than non-stop action.

Conclusion:
"Being Hunted" may not be as heart-pounding as its predecessor, but it delves into the complexities of family and survival in a Molter-infested world. While it could benefit from more action and diverse characters, it still holds promise for those seeking a unique take on the post-apocalyptic genre.

So, my fellow readers, even in the chilliest of winters, there's warmth to be found in the bonds we forge. Keep your fur fluffy and your wits sharp, for who knows what lurks in the shadows of our frozen world. Until next time, stay frosty, my friends!

Slower than the first..

OK so it received a free copy of this book in exchange for an unbiased review.

With that out of the way, first thing you'll find, is that this book is relatively slower than the first. I say relatively, because the first book is, if we're being honest, like three stories in one so not really all that fair to compare the two. But this book is somewhat slower as it focuses on just one main location. Of course it starts off right where the last book ended, our reluctant hero turned family man is doing his best to survive and keep his family alive while doing it. .. all that may not be enough though, for the molters are changing.. and with change comes lowering survivability for our trio.

Great book in the series, really looking forward to the next book as well as the action and questions to be answered!

Mystery of the Molters!

The collapse of Henrytown was heart-breaking. Jonah, Doreen, and Haika headed for the cabin Henry told them of. Jonah still wrestles with his misplaced guilt over the death of his friends. Even after Henrytown, Doreen and Haika, and all the good that had come into his life he could not come to terms with the loss and responsibility he felt. Jonah continued collecting supplies, arms, and ammunition while he made daily perimeter checks for Molters and Behemoths to keep his new family safe. Doreen and Haika were his life, and he would let nothing hurt them. Some distance away lies Fort Perry, populated by a mixed bag of survivors, led by Archer. The story cuts over to this community but I’m not sure what role Fort Perry or its occupants play in the big picture. We get the impression that the Molters are evolving but evidently, the full effect is being reserved for another volume. I like the characters and the story has real potential but it’s not going anywhere. To be honest not much has happened in this second volume. Similar to the first volume everything seems to be background information. Then abruptly ends; quite disappointing. I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.
