Best description of life as a first responder that I have ever heard or read.

Creating a well written explanation for the uninformed about life as a first responder or soldier for the uninitiated was worth the price of admission to this book. I have been in three different uniforms, including army police and fire rescue and some of your descriptions took me right back to many of the events I have seen. Every family member of a cop or fireman or soldier needs to read this.

An important book that approaches the vocal and ongoing assault to our brave men and women by calmly and quietly providing a view of the work through the eyes of our military and first responders. Thought provoking and humbling to glimpse what is behind our American safety net. Thank you for the telling.

Insightful

This book gives a real look at what First Responders really go through in their own words. I highly recommend this for everyone especially those who think negatively on First Responders. This will help people see what I already know dispatching these Heroes.

At 78 years of age, I am taking stock of my life, and this book was quite helpful in that regard. I spent many years wearing a uniform and have always been grateful for the sense of purpose that allowed me.

Thank you for helping me remember the jobs of street cop and Deputy Sheriff/K-9 Officer (the best job I ever had), Marine. Also want to let you know that I had the honor of shaking Chesty Puller's hand (he was at our wedding in 1969).

Respect Earned

My husband and I sat each night and listened to Joey’s voice tell the stories of some of our courageous first responders. The things that the first responders faced each call was heart stopping, sad at times and even triumphant - Protecting victims from evil people. We will be recommending this book to family.
