Another great baseball book.

loving these old baseball books. Anything from the deadball Era to the 80s I'm listening to. Great narration

Solid Single!

Mr. Creamer hit a solid single in sharing highlights of the 1941 season. The narration was okay, but a little too automatic, like a 6-4-3 double play to end an 11-0 , 5-hit blowout. All-in-all, a B-to-B+production, and well worth the time of a baseball history geek, like me! :-)

What a great book!

I wish someone would write a book about every baseball season. Each one is unique. This book was a joy to listen to. I highly recommend.

Great performance, great stories, bad formatting

I loved the stories in this book, and really enjoyed the narrator's pace and voice. However, the formatting is not great, "Chapter 1" contains the introduction, and Chapters 1-4. it makes it a pain to get back to a specific chapter.

I really enjoyed the stories about the Yankees' dynasty. I'm no NYY fan, but the way the story is written and recorded made for such a pleasure to listen to.

Fun Book— Well Written and Narrated

Though it pains me that New York teams get so much national attention, I am cutting Robert Craemer some slack since he presents this as a semi-memoir, depicting the 1941 season in the context of his own life experiences and the greater context of WW2. He includes delightful details about the owners, coaches and players of many teams. He has a breezy style that carries the reader/listener along. My knowledge of the War and baseball of that era was passed down to me vividly from my Dad who told me about Hank Greenberg’s service and enlisted himself when he reached military age. There are some complaints abut the narration in other reviews. I disagree. I thought it was terrific.

A great read for the avid fan

This was a great read that confirmed all the baseball stories that my Dad had told me.

A good one if you are a baseball fan! Creamer is a good writer on baseball.

Very historical

It was interesting reliving the experiences from an intelligent elder. It was a different era. Today we now get along with Japan. And the best players are Japanese. The book covers everything that paved the way for today's baseball.

Mispronunciations issues

Been touched on already in other reviews, but the reader of a nice baseball book, needs to know how to pronounce accurately the names of the players
