I was hooked after the first couple chapters and had to know more ! Craving for a sequel
Really want to spend more time with the both main and side characters

Liked the story, disliked the love interest

I enjoyed the story, the setting and the main female character. Found myself eye rolling at the main male character’s behavior. Just gross! Narrator was great though!

Love the characters!

After listening to JJ’s Boston series, I wanted more, and I found this one. Already listened to book 2- I love the characters internal monologue - so relatable. I also love the little stories about the places she bases her books in Makes me want to visit them. My only complaint is the rest of the series is yet to be written/released. Great narration by Isabelle Turner as well- she really brings all the characters to life. Will definitely seek out her other work as well!

Great characters!

About a decade ago I read all of this authors books. She’s fantastic at ROM Com stories and real connections that have me laughing out loud. I’m so happy to find she has some new books! This was a a different setting but still corky, believable, and honest to how we experience life/relationships. Reading this book was like coming home to an old friend. I really enjoy her style of writing, it’s a great read!

Love this story

Never heard of this author before this book showed up on an Bookbud email. Really enjoyed the book and loved that it had an HEA ending. Now I’m off to listen to the second book in the series.

Good story

The narration and “different” type story were great! I have listened to several of Julie Johnson’s books and enjoyed this the most.

New to me author

Right away I liked this story. Mystery that had lots of tentacles. I will be reading more from this author. Spice was at 50% of book and was nice. Narrator was great.

Loved the story of this book - witchiness and all! The characters were interesting and developed. Loved the backstory they had! And the suspense throughout keep things fresh! Loved that it took place in Salem which has such a storied history. please make more in this series!!!!

Good story with sociopathic MMC

I kept listening to the book because it was entertaining, the performance was excellent, and the mystery was fun. However, I was absolutely horrified by the main male character, who is an absolute sociopath. The book never addresses the fact that he never respects the FMC's boundaries, insults her even as he says he loves her, literally kidnaps her and breaks into her home, and does other reprehensible things. I don't know how he's supposed to be attractive. I felt unsafe just listening to this relationship develop!

The author has talent, and I enjoyed the book, but the MMC was not okay in the slightest. He scares me.
