What an adventure!
Anyone that is into fantasy novels must check this out! Great backstory on all of the characters and the detailed description of the fights really made me feel like I was there fighting with Baric and Hemsey.

Surprisingly Fantastic
Read this for a book club and was pleasantly surprised by how realistic and enthralling this book was. I'm not typically a fantasy/sci fi type reader. Growing up I enjoyed Lord of the Rings, but other fantasy books didn't exactly suit me. This was a change of pace from a typical fantasy book to me. The characters were compelling and the story was fantasy, but close enough to reality to relate without being dystopia. Can't recommend it enough!

Terrific Story and Looking Forward to Sequel
The writing was engaging from the first page. I started the written version but bought audible because of a long road trip and I wanted to keep going. Well worth it. Good character development and while there are a great many characters to keep track of the author does an excellent job of weaving them into the story in a manner that helps you keep track of them all. I'm not a big fantasy reader but I loved this and am buying the sequel today, just sorry its not on Audible yet.

Perfect fantasy
This was such a great book and I'm extremely upset that the 2nd book is not available on Audible. I swear I saw multiple books available in this series when I bought it. I don't have time to read. I wish I did! And when I find a wonderfully written, classic fantasy novel with excellent characters and great narration, it's like striking gold. Imagine my horror when I quickly tried to buy the 2nd book, only to find that it's not available on Audible. Why??? This is just fantasy sacrilege, Audible people, and needs to be addressed. Every politician should pledge to end this phenomenon because it's ruining our lives.
