Resumen del Editor

A Primarchs novel

The Twelfth Primarch has been found! United with the War Hounds - now renamed the World Eaters - the gladiator Angron gives his sons an ultimatum that will change their very nature, and their destiny.

Listen to it because:

You've seen the immediate aftermath of Angron's recruitment into the Imperium in the short story 'After Desh'ea' - now Ian St. Martin brings us the details of what happened next, and the World Eaters' adoption of the Butcher's Nails.

The story:

As the Emperor travels the galaxy at the head of his Great Crusade, few events are as important as rediscovering his scattered sons, the Primarchs, and bestowing them as the masters of their Legions. United, a Legion becomes a reflection of its Primarch, both in his strengths and his flaws. For the Twelfth Legion, once the War Hounds and now the World Eaters, the line between strength and flaw is almost impossible to separate. Placed in command of a Legion he does not want, in service to a father he cannot forgive, Angron gives an ultimatum to his children, one that will set them down a path that they can never return from. So desperate for his acknowledgment, will the World Eaters follow their father and cast themselves in his broken image, or will they resist? And will any of them ever learn who their father was truly meant to be?

Written by Ian St. Martin. Performed by Jonathan Keeble.

Great

Sheds a lot of insight about the legion and it's primarch. The cast of characters are great, and the voice acting is superb

Great story, could use a bit more Angron though...

Narrators portrayal of Angron is 10/10, I loved every chapter he was in. That being said I felt this book is more about the 12th legions transformation and inner conflict rather than Angron himself. I expected more of an origin story but theres only a few chapters that peer into Angrons past, but that's my only complaint the story as a whole is entertaining and totaly worth the read/listen.

A Bloodstained Struggle

Against the backdrop of a Great Crusade conquest of a resistant world, the World Eaters suffer a crisis of identity, and must decide if they will follow their Primarch or cling onto their old identity as War Hounds. Compelling characters bring each camp to life as they struggle for control of the legion's destiny. The story winds down to a bloody conclusion that was among the best in the Primarch books, as well as exploring Angron's past and his insight into the Imperial folly.

Great story, odd voice for Angron.

Great voice for Kharn, but Angron's voice was lacking quite a bit. Amazing story.

A diamond in a filed of gems

This book is particularly great. most 40k books are good. not great. not bad. but good. this book gives great insight into angron and his personal history and sets up his reasoning for joining the heresy. The plot and other characters are straight to the point without leaving our character development and their reasoning. 40k isnt exactly anything hard to comprehend but it's not just devoid of any thought of nuance either, and this book is great evidence of that. Angron is a character who usually is just type casted as an angry berserker, but this book does a great job showing the tragedy and hurt surrounding him. If you have one credit and are looking for a good 40k book. Please don't let it's length fool you. This book easily outclasses books that are double or triple it's length.

Thrilling and heartrending

This is a great deep dive into the origin story of Angron, this also is goes into the 12th legions original Terran views and how they clashed and changed as they conformed to their newly found primarchs demands.

I loved how this book gives us much needed background on Angron, Kharn, Majo and several other note worthy characters! The only thing I disliked about this book was its length, it feels like you are missing a 3rd of the book, this needed to be a full length novel, that being said, it is still very good!

I recommend this book to you if you are a fan of or want to know more about Angron, Kharn, the history of the World Eaters/Warhounds. Even if you are just wanting a good story, I recommend this one, you are really drawn in by the story after about 1/4 way through.

I have to give it to Jonathan Keeble, the guy knocks it out the of park with every Horus Heresy book he Narrates.

Great Story...even if it is truly tragic!!

Loved this, even though the tragedy of what was shown was almost unbearable!! Great look into the origins of the Butchers Nails and tantalising glimpses of what "could" have been if only Angron hadnt been psychologically mutilated. By then end of this book i both hated and pitied Angron in equal measure.
