one of the best in this series

This is definitely one of the best stories in the Hidden Norfolk series. the pacing, how real the characters felt and how good and twisted the ending was. i was outraged at the killer and only good books make me this mad at a fictional person. Greg Patmore is also one of my favourite voices to give life to the characters and this was surely one of his greatest performances up to date. absolutely delightful and great means to forget about my life for a few hours.

my go to series. Love everything about it! The plot, characters, and narration are all a pleasure to listen to.

A satisfyingly complex mystery this time….

…while the author continues to allow his characters room to show who they are. I particularly liked the glimpse of circus life. I’m interested enough to move on to the next one.

This was great

So many who could have done it. Makes for a terrific story. The character development as this series continues is a high point of Dalgliesh’s talent. He makes the reader care for the characters.

The narration is great - an excellent range of voices.

One of the advantages to coming into a series late is not having to wait for the next book.

Deception of the truth brings heartache

This story brings deception to an all time high. People’s lives are on the line. I just love DI Janssens and his team. The characters are fun and exciting. The series is one of the best I’ve read. I highly recommend this book.

Complexity of story

The weakest character in this series is Alice and her child..They are like fillers and it is unlikely (imo) that Tom would find her personality interesting..at least longterm.
