The heroine: Alana - she was an employment lawyer back on earth. One day she walked in on her boyfriend with another woman, which destroyed her trust in men. It wasn’t long after that when aliens abducted her. Along with other females from earth, they were sold at auction to another alien, who took them away in his spaceship, which was filled with pods carrying other females. Suddenly the ship sets down on a nearby planet for an unscheduled stop when their captor tells them that the space police are in the area. and he needs to lay low. When they exit the ship on the hot jungle planet, some local fauna eats the alien. Alana and the other human females were later rescued by the local race of aliens. They are huge males, have wings and they sparkle.

The Hero: Mavyx - a Tryxikka warrior. Their tribe often make ‘seed’ offerings in life-stones to the temple goddesses who keep their females safe inside. They do whatever they can to protect the temple and keep their females and daughters safe. They hope repeatedly to be received by the goddesses, and to hear that that they have fathered sons with their seed offerings. Though they mostly hear that they have fathered further daughter whom they will never see.

The Story: Alana has been worried about the fact that time has gone by, and she is starting to suspect that she might be pregnant by her ex. She is not happy to see that Mavyx, Rynn’s second in command, has basically claimed her, so she goes to the leader of the other tribe of Tryxikka’s and tries to teach him how to shake hands. Mavyx doesn’t like the fact that she is touching another male, and he growls at the leader which creates some sort of incident between the tribes. Mavyx had never wished for a mate, but his heart stars are alight for Alana, meaning she is his fated mate.

I don’t know if it was the storylines or Reagan West’s voice, but this book really kept me interested. Even when nothing much was happening except the two main characters getting to know each other, I was fully immersed. The story was good for the most part, though one thing I didn’t like was how long Alana kept asserting that Mavyx wasn’t her mate. Despite her past with her ex making her cautious, she liked and was attracted to Mavyx for a long time before finally accepting him. She knew his character and he did so much for her while she still claimed they weren't mates.

This audiobook was narrated from multiple perspectives, done in dual narration by Reagan West and Gabriel De Leon. Reagan West has a very pleasant voice and speaks very naturally. She is good at doing different voices for different characters. Gabriel De Leon has a deep, smooth voice that works well for the huge aliens. It is sexy and expressive.

it's a good story just gets a bit repetitive at times.

Love the characters and the story is wonderful. Just get a bit trpetative at times with the pair always telling each other that they are only together because of their hormones. Aside from that there is romance, action, suspense and comedy. Defenetly a very slow 🔥 that will keep you hooked.

Love the writing

Both books are spicy, funny , with good plot. It isn’t angsty or dark - but thoroughly enjoyable. The narration is *chefs kiss* - truly some of the best - I listen to an average of 3 books a week. I got lost in these books. This author is one of my new favs.

More depth! 3.75!

This series is definitely heading towards the top of my favorite alien romance series list! I was so sure I wasn't going to like Alana and Mavyx's book as I felt two hardheaded characters would just breed miscommunication and misunderstandings and although this book and the last book did entertain some miscommunication, the author disables it fast so I can't really complain. There was more chemistry, more effort placed into these leads knowing more about each other than just being horny, and overall Alana and Mavyx were just more well rounded, less shallow leads.

From the last book I didn't understand why Alana's fear of her baby being harmed by the males was even a fear, especially since all the women seemed to understand pretty quickly how obsessed the males were with them and not hurting them in anyway, furthermore if it was such an anxiety, Why not ask the temple since the last book Serena asked it multiple questions, even benign ones and got answers? Serena literally asked this so-called diety to ask the name of her guard.. So I thought a "hey, would these males hurt or disown my baby?" wouldnt be too farfetched to ask lol. I was happy to hear her fears in this book were steered more towards being scared of being a mom and being scared of Mavyx not accepting her and another's man's baby instead. I did find it odd though that once she knew for sure she was pregnant, she didn't immediately seek knowledge/help from the temple or utilize their crashed ships database/computers on what on the planet could aid her like they did to find the birth control in the last book. Thankfully, (spoiler) aid from the temple is given to her (/spoiler) but I was surprised it wasn't initiated by her or Mavyx. It wasn't even a thought.

Despite that laspe, this series is definitely keeping my attention and I'm having fun. I love how down bad these aliens get for the women ❤️ I hope we get some more overarching plot progress as there was virtually none this book but flowers for the author for the growth! Can't wait for more installments!
