l love this book!

Madeline runs away to find a husband, she finds what she is looking for and so much more! I really love Emily Rath books! her Second Son's books are incredible, much more fun than that other famous regency series that I'm not sure if I can name. it starts with a B though! these are why choose series and the sex scenes are very graphic. I loved them personally, but make sure you find the trigger warnings!

Sweet sexy novel

This was a really fun read. Some anachronistic language and sometimes the narrators were inconsistent with their accents, but otherwise a great read. Good character arcs and great sex scenes— excited to read the first two.

Beautiful

Another amazingly beautiful story by Emily Rath, who has quickly become one of my favorite authors. The overall depth of the storyline and characters suck you in. There is a perfect balance of everything- humor, the struggles of life and love, and of course the best SPICE. I hope there will be more to come!

Couldn't finish the book for boredom

I got through the first two Second Sons books because my dislike of the female narrator was tempered by my liking for the male narrator and a better plot. However, by the time I got to Alcott Hall, I just couldn't stand her anymore. She has basically two female character voices and they're both nasally with more than a hint of whine. I gave 2 stars for performance based on Dan Calley's contribution.

The plot of Alcott Hall--what little there is of it--is patently absurd. This is just an excuse for graphic sex scenes not at all enhanced by the nasal whining moans of the female narrator. The plot itself isn't anything new, but it's been done and by far better writers--although many of them don't use the reverse harem trope. In my opinion, this author did the reverse harem plot much better in the first two Second Sons books and the characters/conflicts were far more interesting. Read those if you must, but save yourself time and money and skip book 3.
