Cold steel honesty, presented through realistic lenses. Delivers a warning that everyone should hear. Oh, and the computer-voice sucks. Clearly did what you had to do.

Great story.

Enjoyable story, and I really liked the interview format with vignettes by participants. Reminded me of Mark Baker’s book Nam. With the current turmoil it may a little prophetic? My only complaint was the AI narration, but I have heard much worse on previous recordings.

Great book. No punches held.

Really enjoyed this book. Interesting perspective on the way it’s spun from different viewpoints vs your run of the mill genre. Didn’t mind the AI voice other than the one or two per half hour ‘abbreviation glitches’ as I refer to them. Enjoyed it, look forward to more from this author.

Great story and very thought provoking

I enjoyed the style of story telling taking fictional characters stories from different parts of the war. The robot voice doing the story telling was an epic fail. Simple things like saying A… r15s sounds odd and distracts from the story.

Great storylines, horrible narration

I like I like a story that comes at many different perspectives on the same topic… But I do not like AI generated voices. It was very monotone. There was no gender difference. And honestly, if it wasn’t something, I was mentally interested in, I would’ve stopped after the first chapter.

Crappy AI ruins the Audio Version

I dont know why AI was used but its bad AI with mispronounced words and AR15's are always pronounced "Aye.... Rrrr One Five" with a long pause between the A and the R and not fifteen so it sounds stupid. Also, if you're using AI, when its a woman speaking, why not use a woman's AI voice? I think Kurt should have done a proof listen of this, does he know it sounds like crap? Other than that, its a good story but if you have the time, which I don't, read it, dont listen to it.
