Fire Scale Dragons Fantasy

A very good story. It is a little over 4 hours so it is a good quick listen. Considering the lentgh of this story, a lot is covered in a short time. A women who is forced to dress and act like a man, ight beast, Fire Scale, God of Death, fighting, even a little romance.

This is a well written book.

The narration was excellent. It was a very easy listen.

Totally enjoyed this book!Though it was the old 'girl pretends to be boy to slay dragon',it had enough twists to make it new and interesting. Dolcie Webb was a wonderful narator.I was given this book by the narrator,author or publisher free for an honest review.

A good book with a fantastic narration

Castleberry's work here is quite good for what it is! Though I'm typically more a fan of longer, more detailed stories, I think that this does very well with the time that it has. With a compelling lead and a rather unexpected antagonist, I found myself enjoying the whole ride. My only gripe is that the final act had some pacing issues, and felt rushed compared with the rest of the book. This is forgivable, however, in the scope of the larger story - especially thanks to the relatively small time commitment.

Of course, no audiobook is complete without a narrator, and Webb does a fantastic job with her interpretation of the material. It's difficult to put my finger on it, exactly, but her vocal style lends itself very well to the fantasy genre. It feels very much like she is remembering the story herself and telling it to a friend, rather than just reading from a page. I think her performance was what helped to make the experience as good as it was.

Well written and produced!

A well-written and strongly narrated story in a unique fantasy setting. I already enjoy self-contained bite-sized stories like these.

A little Epic Adventure

Poetically written, Jen Castelberry’s, short but epic tale of a young girl trained to kill must learn that sometimes the savior needs the saving. I appreciated the cleaver writing and candid descriptions of events without going over the top in this fictitious world. Each character had a purpose and were well developed. The adventure plot was well thought out and supported.

Dollcie Webb did a down job with the narration. I enjoyed her cadence and appropriate level of pauses. It was quite rhythmic. Only one editing error to be found, which should be an easy fix.

Overall a great story of love, loss and dragons. I would recommend this story to those who enjoy epic stories such as the Odyssey, Antigone, and or Oedipus Rex.

Definitely not unremarkable

A Wild and Unremarkable Thing is anything but unremarkable. Cody/Kada is a great character and the world is rich and well built. The references to Greek mythology that are built in are rich and add a great depth to the story. Cody/Kada's struggles with gender are somehow both unique and relateable. I thoroughly enjoyed.

Great listen with a nod to Greek mythology

You can't tell from the title but this book is a great fantasy read with a backstory in Greek mythology and a very, very good coming-of-age story (of sorts.) Cody/Kada was born a girl but her father wanted her to fight dragons and win the accolades and reward to elevate the family. Half of the listen was Cody's training and buildup to the dragon fight; the other half was the journey and the inevitable struggle.

My only complaint about this listen was the length. Other than its brevity, this book was perfection!

Great world building

Great tale of dragon hunting, though not called dragons. Great world building and characters. I enjoyed this very much. Great voice actor.

I did not like it at all

The narrator was just awfull to listen to. And the story was not well written. It was really hard to get through, i wish i diden’t waste a credit on it. I would not recomend this book.
