Glad that I listened.

I'm glad that I listened to this story about a very special friendship. We should all remember those that are older than us and younger than us, have a lot to teach us, if we just listen.

Enjoyable listen

I enjoyed A Year By The Sea. There is a movie of it as well that included parts from A Walk on The Beach, so I thought I’d give it a listen. I really enjoyed gaining wisdom from Joan Erickson. It was well performed too.

inspiration for this mom/wife

i loved this book. so many moments in this book were applicable to me as a wife & mom. inspirational!

Beautiful!

I read this book several years ago when my life was stagnant and I was searching for something better. Because of this book, I took the first step toward finding myself and beginning a new journey. Today I am a much happier person!

If I hear the word "quip" one more time....

The word nourishment and quip and used so many times in this listen... It was almost a DNF. I am sure the story would have been really good had the author not been so in love with wordiness.

Disappointed

I was hoping that this would be an interesting insight into the mind of Joan Erickson. But from the first page the book is all about its author; and the writing is a constant stream of trite sayings, adverb-filled expressions painfully enunciated in an old-lady voice by the narrator. No, the word “our” does NOT have two syllables!! Had to return it as I couldn’t bear another moment.
