Loved it

Great series! Grateful for a happy close :) I wish I knew it was a trilogy when I started because I had to wait for the last book.

Good, but too much repetition

It’s an entertaining story and interesting conclusion to the series, but there are multiple sections that repeat descriptions almost verbatim. I’m sure readers can see parallels without using the exact same phrases.

Great Conclusion to the Trilogy!

I really enjoyed this last book. I feel like it tied everything in together well, when the last book left things so uncertain in this war. I was also happy that the story took on the perspectives of each of the four main characters fairly equally. Finally, I wasn't in love with Lia Mara's narrator in book two, where she overacted and made her character seem immature in my opinion. However, I was pleasantly surprised and relieved to find that she seemed to tone it down and give Lia Mara's character the maturity she deserves. I liked the performances of all four narrators in this book, and it's definitely worth a listen!

Can’t care about Lia Mara

I think this would be a better story without Lia Mara. I just can’t bring myself to care about her story, and I don’t enjoy listening to the narration of her portions.
Based on other reviews, I tried to keep my expectations low, but at the end of the book, I just felt unsatisfied, sad, and disappointed.

Final Thoughts

The ending was a little lackluster but it was an overall very intriguing series.

Narrator’s did a great job. The story was good. It was a good lesson. Definitely will be listening to this story again.

All the feels and a mostly satisfying conclusion

Thoroughly enjoyed this series even if I found some of the characters to be a bit grating. I loved getting the perspective of all four main characters in this book. Kemmerer brought so much life and emotion to each of these characters and told the story in a way that nearly had me in tears at multiple points throughout the book. The ending did feel a bit rushed and I was left wanting a tad more to wrap it all up, but overall loved this conclusion and the series as a whole is an entertaining indulgence!

Good but...

Satisfying ending and I love that there is room for more..I’ve enjoyed this series!
The performance of Lia Mara was not to my liking. Someone it sounded like a whiny teen rather than a queen. I wish the voice actor was given better direction on this one!

Excellent Finale!

I loved this book! Such a great ending to a fantastic series! so many great scenes and such great characters!

This series is great.

I find this series “hard to put down”. The story involves eliminates of Disney’s The Beauty and the Beast, The Star Wars Series and The Lord of the Rings. It has sword fights, a miserably evil spirit who plays with her targets, scary monsters tries to rule all of two country’s struggling with who will strike first. It has real Kings and Queens, knights in shining army that practices daily to perfect their skills. There are two countries that are at odds with each other. The customs of each are described so well you think you are their, learning new languages and different customs. The series describes the difficulties in learning new skills & customs and differing goals can work towards peace. The characters become alive and the reader learn new things as they do. There are love stories involved. There are funny stories and mystery mixed together. I came to like all the characters except maybe two and even then, I can appreciate how there past experiences molded their paths to be the evil ones. I found myself worrying for all of them in beautiful landscapes that I had to keep listening to the audio version. Voices were great. The sense of mood was clearly obvious with the voices and story tellers.

I highly recommend this series: it is fun. It is entertaining. And you might learn something about finding the “right way” and finding yourself. It is an adventure worth joining.
