Outstanding!

Although its fiction, the story and exquisite performance makes the story about generations of witches believable and entertaining. I had a hard time not listening all the way through. A must listen! loved it!

Possibly my favorite of all time

While I'll admit the ending had me wishing for a sequel I loved this book. I listened to this book over a year ago and again just in the last week- and I never reread books. it's so interesting to see the times move by with the characters and, even when I know what will happen, I still feel my heart beat fast. beautiful writing and such great narration! Can't get enough

It will take you over

The narration in this book is beyond comparison. Make, female, Welch, French, British the narrator can do it all without missing a beat. I was blown away. The story is fabulous. The complex lineage and exciting plot captivate and mystify. This was almost believable... Until the WWII situation. No spoilers, but that twist was a little too far fetched for me. Or was it? I did find myself googling and fact finding to see if maybe, just maybe it could have been. Even so, this author is brilliant and obviously very good at her craft. I LOVED this story. Again, the narrator was absolutely amazing, flawless execution. I highly recommend this audiobook.

A Wonderful journey

I thoroughly enjoyed this book and the narrator was excellent. It is the story of a family of witches with the “craft”passed down from mother to daughter for centuries. In the early times when the family had to travel as refugees and hide in other places, carrying their Grimoire and crystal with them because of the burnings and hangings. Some misused it, some doubted, and some used it for good things. I was mesmerized!

I enjoyed listening to the ancestry of a family of witches. The narrator did a great job to.
