Extremely enjoyable historical fantasy adventure:
Sorcerer finds apprentices & super slow burn m/m love interest in quest to defeat evil wizards who stoop to using sea serpents for their dirty work

Great story!!! Great narration!!!

I love love love this book!!! I rarely write reviews but this is such a fun touching story that I had to share!
The narrator is perfect. I love the way his narrative progresses with the growth of the characters. Many narrators voices just stay the same although the characters have grown and learned. Not so here!
Yes there is a gay romance which for me is wonderful. It’s a touching budding love story. NO overt sex scenes which I appreciate. I sound like such a prude but I prefer a “fade to black” approach to romantic scenes gay straight or any other kind!
Adrien and Hugh’s honest and refreshing love for their adopted children is refreshing and goes straight to the heart.
Give this book a chance! I don’t think you will be disappointed! I’m listening to the second one now and cannot wait for the third to be published!

great story, slow burn romance

as always sherwood gives excellent stories with awesome character interaction and never leaves the listener with questions. well written, awesome flow. Great world.

narrator was excellent, gave emotional depth and character distinction.

Kind and fun story with enough logic to feel realistic

I like that all characters use their brains and aren't idiotic stereotypes. Yes, there are some common types in this story, but I see it just humans being not so different from each other with their struggles. Also I appreciate that it's a slow burn for a change. For me personally it's more logical and believable over characters jumping on each other right away. This story is really heartwarming and full of hope for something good out there

Fantastic world!

The narrator is perfect and this new world is so fascinating! The characters are interesting and the story made my heart weep for their plight but the warmth and love gave me much joy. Outstanding story!!!
