In this new romance from USA TODAY bestselling author Letizia Lorini, a crime podcast host must solve a chilling serial killer case while navigating an unexpected romance with her mysterious next-door neighbor.

Scarlett Moore doesn’t do romance.

She’s made a name for herself narrating gritty crime fiction on a local podcast. But when her boss hands her the reins to the network’s romance show, Scarlett finds herself neck-deep in swoony love stories on top of her usual murder plots.

Then someone begins reenacting the chilling crimes she discusses on air, down to the last twisted detail.

Determined to protect her small town, Scarlett launches her own investigation. But the line between reality and fiction blurs even more when Rafael Gray—the brooding bad boy who disappeared five years ago—unexpectedly returns. Suddenly, her life reads like a romance novel filled with every trope she used to mock, with Rafael playing the dangerously irresistible lead.

He's perfect in every way...except last time, he broke her heart, and now he’s the prime suspect in the string of brutal murders.

Will this be the love story she never saw coming, or is it a killer kind of romance?

I loved this book! It was the perfect balance between thriller and spicy romance. I love Scarlett and Rafael!! I love the back story and how they came back together. I love how he understood her and her trauma and found a way in. I love how they complement each other! I also found the murder part fun as well. A murderer that was killing based on the podcast episodes Scarlett did. It was fun, twisty and had a great ending! This book has it all and is so fun! Great read!

Spicy romance/thriller- perfect!

Scarlett Moore doesn't like romances, but loves true crime books/tv shows and crime fiction. Rafael Gray comes back into town, and he is the perfect book boyfriend. They way he supported Scarlett, and how he got around the walls she built up after the death of her parents and after her grandparents took custody of her younger brother. I absolutely adored the romance! I loved that Scarlett and Rafael did what ever they needed to in order to make sure her brother got out of a toxic situation. The murder mystery was good, but I loved the romance, the characters, and how the author handled the conflicts within the plot.

A Must Read!

yes. I spent my whole day reading and listening to this book. I bought both because it sounded so intriguing and it was. I loved it from cover to cover.

While I liked the story, I was struggling to finish this book. MC was frustrating and the amount of times I heard 'Rafael'.. almost drove me crazy.

Pretty good but..

Small town
Childhood crush
Murder investigation
Bookish boyfriend
All the tropes literally all of them.

This was a fun read! I laughed at the trope intro each chapter. It’s definitely more contemporary romance with a dash of a murder investigation going on. The onlyyyy thing that was hard was the overkill of saying each other’s names and nicknames about halfway through I was like I GOT IT.

The author was good at making you think you knew who the suspect was and then more potential ones came up so you weren’t really sure who was the culprit.

FMC does have a bit of a whiney vibe but overall it was a good read and I’ll be looking at other books by the author.

Fun read
