Pottery and murder

Pretty good debut. A quick cozy mystery with a dash of romance. Not a bad start.

Not very well constructed

Not very well constructed and add a sprite of self justice

First of off all the book was very ' dry ' - only a few hints of humor usually tinged with negativity.
Calling people stupid (Dumb and Dumber) does not amuse me.

If you like pottery, this may be a more interesting read. However the authors attempt to make
clay into an almost living thing is laughable for the rest of us.

Our hero spends the entire book trying to figure out who the murderer is and then when she does the entire thing just kind of goes away.

Also ex wife and mistress mysteries are so overused it can not be considered very original.

And at the end we really still don't know who the murderer is or if they even killed the 'right' victim as I suspect there were 2 people in the car at the time of the accident. Or maybe I just lost interest ... - which it never really held to begin with.

struggled to finish. great$ull for lack of foul language. too detailed bt pottery as opposed to storyline.

typical cosy mystery ruined by a boring narrator

I knew what to expect with a cosy mystery. easy going plot for mild entertainment and mindless fun. nothing too gory or disturbing. some saccharine sweetness.

but the simple story was IMO ruined by this boring, flat and lifeless narrator. i enjoyed the story enuf to force myself thru more of her readings if tht is the only option for this author though.

Enjoyable and Entertaining

Ellery Adams has another good cozy mystery series. I enjoyed this book lie her others. It has interesting characters and realistic situations. I hope the rest of the series is added soon to Audible.

A quick listen

The story is a extemely typical cozy mystery. The protagonist spends way too much time comparing herself to other women and heaping body shame on her self. Most of the characters are shallow. I didn't figure out the soluntion ahead of time.

Okay for background noise. I listened while working.

I didn't think I would like a book about pottery

But I enjoyed the narrator's voice , the mystery and the characters a lot. Actually couldn't put it down!
