Didn’t like female character, especially threatening a dragon…please. Not that fond of Keira’s narration; love Shane’s narration. The storyline was so so.

Heart of Gold

This was a cute story with likeable characters. On the night before his wedding\bonding day, Aleric, a stubborn male, dragon shifter, accidentally bonds to a woman he meets in a bar. He is a prince and next in line to be king. This creates many problems. Anastasia believes herself to be human but finds out differently. Good narration.

Great book

This was really great love the readers as well. It was different from what I usually read and I must say I am Pleasantly surprised.

Obsessed!

I decided to try a new genre and I did not expect to be so drawn in! I never thought that dragons would be so cool. Good choice in voice actors too. I can't wait for the 2nd audio book!

Overall a Great Listen! Totally Worth a Credit!

Narrartors: Keira Stevens is a great narrator. Shane East sounds too old to read the role of the prince and often phrases sentences with an awkward prosody that changes the meaning and impact of the text. Still, I definitely prefer a male voice to read the male POV. Especially in this type of story. Ultimately SE did not ruin the listening experience, just detracted from it. I would totally listen again.

Story: PSA- Sex scenes are explicit. like WAP explicit and there is steamy teasing throughout as the story develops. It begins and ends with hot scenes and plenty of steamy sexual tension in the middle. And actually all of this propels the story forward IMHO. So be warned if you are a pearl clutcher- this story is not for you.

Overall: This is my first listen to this author. I really enjoyed this story and will definitely put the rest of the series on my to listen list. Also I liked it well enough to check out some other books by this author.

loved it!!

I absolutely loved this book! I typically listen to a book a day and I rarely find the urge to leave a review (positive or negative) but I truly loved this book and needed everyone to know lol ! I've been in a book slump and took a chance on a new (to me) author and I am do glad I did! The story flowed beautifully, I didn't feel like it was dragging on or unnecessarily wordy. The heroine was strong, smart and sassy. She didn't make ridiculous decisions or cause unnecessary drama, she stood up for herself and stayed remarkably calm throughout the book lol I would have loved for the book to have had an epilog or something, to give us a little more of that happily ever after they worked so hard for... but hopefully that means we will be getting book #2 sooner than later, and we can hear more about Anna and Alariks new life together! The narrators were on point of course, Shane and Keira are always amazing performers!

It says you should sometimes try something new.
So I was listening to a fantasy book, which is normally not my trope.

But I have to admit, I really like this story. It's exciting and captivating.
And sexy and steamy. :)

Of course it's even better with the narrators.

All in all a book I can totally recommend.

The heroine: Anastasia - She went to college for social work only to find out too late that the job she wanted required a master's degree. Now she was working as a barista in a local coffee shop and not doing too well at that. While she was suspended for a few days for arguing with a customer, she just wanted to relax and do some window shopping over the weekend.

The Heroes: Alaric - he is a dragon shifter and the crown prince of Aurum who was out at a human bar looking for a one night stand the night before his wedding/binding to a woman he barely knew. Everything he did was for the family and the kingdom, but this night was to be for him alone.

The Story: Alaric was surprised to meet Anastasia who was just a normal girl eating some onion rings at the bar, dressed in a long-sleeved band t-shirt and not in a minuscule dress and looking for a hookup. Anastasia thought the guy was smoking hot and a bit too good for the bar they were in. She had a suspicion that he wasn’t human when he told her he had never eaten an onion ring. She knew dragon shifters didn’t like human food, but he really wanted to try her food. The two of them ended up hitting it off and went to her place to hook up.

That was when things started getting weird. They both enjoyed themselves more than just a little, but when Alaric noticed the beginnings of a bond forming between them, he freaked out and left. Anastasia woke up the next morning feeling hotter than she ever had before and was just hoping she didn’t catch some unknown dragon STD. Alaric couldn’t believe that it was actually the bond, because dragons didn’t bond with humans.

This book really started out with a bang (pun intended) and I liked the plot from the start. Though it took a while before we got much world building. I mean we could tell from the start that dragon shifters were known to the general population, and they had their own bars, restaurants, etc. They didn’t mix with humans much, and seemed to think they were better than humans. Though it did mention that there were dragon shifters and draekons, with draekons being the result of a dragon shifter and human mating. I found out later that the dragons ruled over the humans as well.

This book is told in dual points of view via dual narration. It was narrated by Shane East and Kiera Stevens. Kiera has a youthful feminine voice with an American accent which is very pleasant. Shane East has a deep sexy voice and speaks with an English accent, and he is one of my favorite narrators. I was happily surprised that the story was so good and I enjoyed every bit of it. This was a good sized standalone, which I love but it was one case where I was wishing it wasn’t. I would love to read more dragon stories like this.

FANTASTIC BOOK!!

Alaric is a dragon prince trolling a human club for a one night stand before doing his duty to become bonded to a mate. He's always done what he's told and decides that he wants one night to do something just for him. He gets more than he bargained for when he meets Anastasia in the club. Someone so different from him and she intrigues him. I loved every single moment of this book. Great humor,  just the right amount of sexual tension and lots of action that kept me turning the pages and on the edge of my seat! This was my first book by this author. I devoured the book and am looking forward to more books by Ms. Foxe!
Keira Stevens and Shane East absolutely blew me away on my second go round with this book. I absolutely LOVED this book before the audio dropped and I might even love it more after hearing Ana and Alaric performed by Keira and Shane!
