Resumen del Editor

Graduate student Lizzie Petrie feels more comfortable around books than people. Although an expert in the Hitler Youth, she’s a novice in love. Her former lesbian lover is blackmailing her, and not even those closest to Lizzie know the full story of their abusive relationship.

When visiting high school, English teacher Sarah crosses Lizzie’s path at the campus. Their attraction is instant but not without complications. As they start to spend more time together, suspicions arise from both women in this sexy piece of LGBT fiction.

Plenty of good-natured teasing takes place between lovers as well as between PhD students in this lesbian contemporary romance. No relationship path ever runs smoothly, and oftentimes, those who can’t keep their mouth shut hasten necessary confrontation.

Lizzie finds herself buried in a mess of lies in this romantic comedy. The harder she tries to keep Sarah and the rest of her friends from finding out the truth about her first girlfriend, the more endearingly clueless she becomes.

Fabulous Story!

I love this story and these characters! Lizzie Petrie is a little odd at first glance; she feels more comfortable around books than people. She studies the Hitler Youth and has no experience with love. Yet, she's the kind of person you would befriend in a minute. She meets a high school English teacher named Sarah one day on the campus of the university that Lizzie teaches at and their attraction is instant. However, nothing for Lizzie ever goes smoothly. She has the uncanny ability to complicate most things in her life. That's just her nature. As the two spend more time together, Sarah begins to become frustrated with Lizzie. She complains that Lizzie is overly private and not very forthcoming. However, Sarah has secrets of her own.....

Markinson’s characters are always fun; they are so rich and multi-dimensional. She artfully develops characters that are flawed, but yet are so likeable. Additionally, she creates relationships between her characters in such a way that one can not help but invest themselves in the story. Her ability to do this lends itself to authentic storytelling that never disappoints.

I highly recommend TB Markinson's A Clueless Woman! Stephanie Murphy does a great job narrating it. It's a fabulous love story that leaves you wanting more. (Fortunately you can get more. It's the prequel to The Lost Woman series. Yea!!)

Can Lizzie let someone in?

This is the question she ponders in this story. Her past still has a grip on her life and it’s not a past she wants to remember. Really good story and Stephanie does a great job telling it!

The Woman Lost series just gets better and better!

Since this series has turned into Audiobooks ( book 1,2 and the prequel 0 so far) I have to say that I have yet to be disappointed in any of them. The Narrater... Stephanie Murphy does a great job once again in this prequel with bringing this part of the story to life. I own all of the books in this series (0-4) and have read them several time since owning them. I have to say listening to each book is like hearing the story for the first time. T.B Markinson has a writing style that seems to draw readers into her stories. Theirs a gambit of emotions and you really begin to love the characters and can't wait to see what's next for Lizzie and Sarah and of course all of the secondary charactors. I definitely will be owning the rest of this series in audiobook form as soon as they become available. I highly recommend this and all the other books in this series. 5 stars once again across the board!

Getting over the ex from hell

The narration didn’t work for me at all (it was too slow so I tried to adjust the speed and then it was too fast, and I also couldn’t help feeling the narrator’s voice was too « old », in a way, for the characters) so my opinion is probably tainted by that. I still enjoyed this, it just wasn’t the kind of voice and narration I like.

Anyway. While this might sound like a romance, it’s more about the difficulty of getting over an abusive relationship, of trusting again but also of talking about it, allowing others to know. The whole story between Lizzie and Sarah is sweet and lovely but the real story is Lizzie finding herself after the ex from hell.

The secondary characters have a real depth too, and have a real purpose in the story. I also like that the author gave Graves’ Disease to her main character, a condition she herself suffers from and knows well. It gave Lizzie another layer and at the same time educated me on this disease.

Now I’ll just have to read A Woman Lost again (I’ve read it before but my memory works in mysterious ways).

Wickedly Charming!

Wonderfully charming storyline! I am looking forward to listening to the remainder of the series. I have followed the Author and Clare Lydon on their podcast, "Lesbians Who Write" for a while now. I can now see several ways that she has integrated some of herself into her characters. She is a very witty writer!

So far, I recommend the series as I have listened to a couple of the others out of order!

The narrator, Stephanie Murphy is a very good narrator and does a nice job of bringing the story to life! she has a certain cadence to her tone that may take a minute to capture you, but after a few minutes, you will find that it is charming!

Well done!

Secrets and Scars

Excellent story that deals with the shame of domestic abuse and finding love. Lizzie meets Sarah and struggles to let her in on her secrets and scars. If she doesn't, she just might lose the woman of her dreams.

From the beginning

I appreciate the opportunity to learn about Lizzie’s life from the very beginning. I think Sarah will be the best addition to her life if she doesn’t sabotage it. I think is is boarder line autistic really. I have started the next one already. Stephanie Murphy was wonderful as always.
