Ever since my twin sister was murdered and I blamed my best friend, my life has been nothing but an epic downward spiral.
Once a swimmer for the most prestigious West Coast college, I never in a million years thought I’d end up here.
Abandoned. Locked up. Alone.
In a moment of weakness, I call the guy who was more of a brother to me than anything, the guy I betrayed.
Shockingly, he flies cross country to bail me out. But he isn’t alone.
In tow is his new swim coach—a whistle-blowing tyrant who makes me crave pushing every button he’s ever had and tossing his list of rules into the bottom of his coveted pool.
But I can’t because now he’s my coach too.
It’s Coach Resch and the team who hates me or a four-by-four cell.
So off to Westbrook I go to serve my sentence like the good boy I’ll never be.
Coach thinks he can handle me, but he’s never met my particular brand of wild.
Please note this book contains discussions of suicide (not depicted), death, and murder of a sibling, present danger, and water trauma. This an age-gap romance. The ages of the main characters are twenty-one and forty.

🎧📚🎧 Michael Norman Johnson and Lance Isley did a fantastic job bringing these characters to life, humanizing them with voices that were fitting for a perfect portrayal of each. I loved how they took each role and owned it, sounding believable and just as I imagined the characters to sound. Both nailed it in the two lead roles, embodying their personalities completely, and they were just as fabulous performing the roles of the secondary/side characters too. They set the ideal tone for the story, conveyed all the characters’ emotions in their performance and had you feeling them all. These entertaining storytellers are a pleasure to listen to, and their captivating performance keeps you glued to the story.

Also, I devour any bits of the couples from previous books as background characters. This series is just EVERYTHING! I will miss all of these couples so much.
I'm so sad this series is over. I need a trauma latte to get me through this difficult transition.

I didn’t know i needed a book with coach as much as I did and I’m so so happy we got it! Coach Emmett and Brody’s story is one of my favorites from the series. I LOVED the daddy k!nk and the way Emmett wanted to take care of Brody. I loved how understanding and loving he was with his traumas and his struggles. I also really liked how open and honest they were with each other. Their story really was beautiful while also a little k!nky 😅
The smut was top tier and the Elite friends in the story really made me miss them and happy to see them enjoying their lives too.
The audio was great and I thought the narrators did great. There’s one narrator that was better than the other bc when the other would take on the voice of the coach from Brody’s perspective it wasn’t my fav.
Love them so much!

The narrators did a good job. I am going to miss the elites and the texts when this is over. I really enjoyed this series but this one I was not a fan of Bodhi. I couldn't stand his demands and temper tantrums. He acted like a six year old instead of a 21 year old. Besides that, I liked it I love how they are always there for each other and the bantering when they are all together. The trauma lattes.
Good!

💛Emotional Trauma (past)
This book hit me right in the feels, and I still haven't recovered. I knew this book was going to be an emotional one. After seeing Bodhi in Wildcard, I knew his story was going to be heartbreaking. But then we added Coach (Emmitt) to the mix and that just double the emotional experience. Both of these characters have suffered so much. I knew it would be a hard fought HEA. The angst, hurt/comfort, and amount of guilt they both experience definitely puts you through it all. But when they get together, it's absolutely perfect. Then you get the sweet and spicy moments between Bodhi and Emmitt that are pure fire. Of course, we can't leave out the rest of the Elite bros. This found family has no boundaries and will fight for each other until the end. I was so happy to see them accept Bodhi and rally around him when he needed them. This book is full of moments that will make you laugh out loud, but also, you will need the tissues for others. Elite group chats are just epic. This was the perfect ending to this series.

Emmett is the swimming coach, and Bodhi is struggling after his sister's death. He does something that could put him away for a long while, but Emmett rescues him, and puts him on the Elites. However, Bodhi has a fear of the water, after something happened.
Emmett can't stop thinking about Bodhi, but Bodhi is off limits. As he gets to know him more, he realizes there is more to him than he originally thought. Can Emmett help Bodhi get past all his past traumas? Can Bodhi learn to trust Emmett? Will they get their happy ending?
I enjoyed this book, and can't wait for the next one.
