Ever since my twin sister was murdered and I blamed my best friend, my life has been nothing but an epic downward spiral.

Once a swimmer for the most prestigious West Coast college, I never in a million years thought I’d end up here.

Abandoned. Locked up. Alone.

In a moment of weakness, I call the guy who was more of a brother to me than anything, the guy I betrayed.

Shockingly, he flies cross country to bail me out. But he isn’t alone.

In tow is his new swim coach—a whistle-blowing tyrant who makes me crave pushing every button he’s ever had and tossing his list of rules into the bottom of his coveted pool.

But I can’t because now he’s my coach too.

It’s Coach Resch and the team who hates me or a four-by-four cell.

So off to Westbrook I go to serve my sentence like the good boy I’ll never be.

Coach thinks he can handle me, but he’s never met my particular brand of wild.

Please note this book contains discussions of suicide (not depicted), death, and murder of a sibling, present danger, and water trauma. This an age-gap romance. The ages of the main characters are twenty-one and forty.

The fact that I read this almost 500 page book in one day should tell you just how good this was. Cambria ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS delivers on top tier hurt/comfort & possessive mcs. I could read these types of books by her for the rest of my life and never grow tired. This book was IMMEDIATELY YES for me. From the very first chapter. Once I heard this was age gap & daddy I swan dived into my kindle to devour it. These two did not have an easy HEA. There are so many obvious obstacles they have to face. I love how everything was navigated and addressed. The daddy vibes were on point and executed so well. If anyone needs a damn daddy its Bodhi. Even after 500 pages I wanted more of them. I definitely wouldn't be mad at an extended epilogue. I just adore them and Bodhi deserves the whole world. DADDY EMMETT IS PERFECT AND I WILL NOT HEAR OTHERWISE.

Also, I devour any bits of the couples from previous books as background characters. This series is just EVERYTHING! I will miss all of these couples so much.

I'm so sad this series is over. I need a trauma latte to get me through this difficult transition.

What to expect from Whistle:
-Daddy
-Age Gap (19 years)
-Hurt/Comfort
-Possessive/Jealous MCs
-Coach/Swimmer=FORBIDDEN
-Brat

I just finished listening to this and I absolutely loved it. I’ve read this book multiple times, but hearing it in audio brought Bodhi and Coach Resch’s story to life in such a vivid, emotional way. I loved everything about it, Age Gap, Daddy v. Brat, and of course all the Bros!! This audiobook reminded me why I fell in love with this series in the first place. Emotional, entertaining, and unforgettable.

Obsessed with Bodhi & Coach

I didn’t know i needed a book with coach as much as I did and I’m so so happy we got it! Coach Emmett and Brody’s story is one of my favorites from the series. I LOVED the daddy k!nk and the way Emmett wanted to take care of Brody. I loved how understanding and loving he was with his traumas and his struggles. I also really liked how open and honest they were with each other. Their story really was beautiful while also a little k!nky 😅

The smut was top tier and the Elite friends in the story really made me miss them and happy to see them enjoying their lives too.

The audio was great and I thought the narrators did great. There’s one narrator that was better than the other bc when the other would take on the voice of the coach from Brody’s perspective it wasn’t my fav.

Love them so much!

Cambria Hebert created something very special when she created the “Westbrook Elite” world, a series with amazing characters and storylines, and each book featuring a member of the “Elite” swim team. We’ve met most of the key members of the swim team, and one constant who was always there for them is the man attached to his whistle, the one who had their backs, their coach, Emmett Resch. Bodhi continues to grieve the loss of his twin sister and is being eaten up by guilt, guilt for not being there to save her. He has been in self-destructive mode ever since, still unable to channel his anger and hate, taking it too far, once again, he lands in jail. His parents had given up on him, so he called an old friend, not expecting him to show up because he had burned that bridge too. Rush shows up with a reinforcement, Coach Resch, who had his reasons for wanting to be there, and their lawyer cut a deal for Bodhi. Part of that deal was his going back to Westbrook, attending classes and joining the Elite swim team, none of which he wanted, but a much better alternative to jail. Bodhi continues to have a chip on his shoulder, but Emmett sees him, sees how broken and hurt he is and wants to help him. That isn’t all he wants, with an undeniable chemistry between them, being madly attracted to Bodhi, and the feeling is mutual. Bodhi is off-limits, since relationships between students and faculty members can not happen, not to mention the age-gap of almost twenty years. This intense story tugs at your heartstrings like no other, and it wasn’t easy for these two, but the heart wants what the heart wants, even these who suffered from broken hearts, and these two had that in spades. It was a rocky road, with obstacles in the way, but it was a road to mending, a road to love, and I was rooting for them the entire journey. There is never a dull moment in this book, a deep and multi-layered story with plenty of drama, angst, heartfelt emotions, steamy, yes daddy, romance, and to lighten things up with have the Elite, their hilarious texts and banter. As always, the writing, plot and world building are fantastic, as are the character growth and development. Cambria Hebert, thank you for another wonderful story and emotional rollercoaster ride.

🎧📚🎧 Michael Norman Johnson and Lance Isley did a fantastic job bringing these characters to life, humanizing them with voices that were fitting for a perfect portrayal of each. I loved how they took each role and owned it, sounding believable and just as I imagined the characters to sound. Both nailed it in the two lead roles, embodying their personalities completely, and they were just as fabulous performing the roles of the secondary/side characters too. They set the ideal tone for the story, conveyed all the characters’ emotions in their performance and had you feeling them all. These entertaining storytellers are a pleasure to listen to, and their captivating performance keeps you glued to the story.

Body and Emmett take us on their journey in WHISTLE by Cambria Hebert, and their book is the eighth in the Westbrook Elite universe.⁣

From the beginning of this series, I always wondered if Coach would get his own book. I was excited to find out that he indeed was getting his own book, and what surprised me was who his partner was.⁣

Both Body and Emmett have a lot of past trauma that has hindered their happiness, but there is something about each other that pulls them together, no matter how hard they try to ignore it. When Body’s brattiness boils over and Emmett is forced to hunt him down, everything between them is tested.⁣

I am so happy that Body and Emmett were able to overcome their trauma together and move forward with each other. Of course, we had the same meddling and banter filled found family vibes that only Elite can provide.⁣

Lance Isley and Michael Norman Johnson were the perfect choice for the characters and their story. The only thing that would have made this better is if it had been a duet narration. ⁣
