I often hesitate getting into series that have multiple books but this one is well worth the listening time and $/credit. B Sands has done a simply amazing job with the voices of the 5 Alphas, not to mention all the others in the story. M York was a delight to listen to as well. she portrayed a defiant Omega very well.
What I liked best about this book and the one prior, it is an actual story. Not just spicy RH omega/alpha. The story is captivating and pulls you in to finish the series (1 more with this pack, then I think 2 with another pact, fighting for the same cause I believe).

Even more action than the first one, this is giving me everything I didn’t realize was missing in my life. The only “critique” I have is that I would have liked a little more world building, really in the first book because at some point in this book- I think during movie night- is when I realized that this is a post apocalyptic world. The entire time I was seeing it in a modern world just alternate universe.

The story from the beginning has been captivating and I can’t stop listening. At no point am I expecting any of the twists and turns and my mouth has been perpetually open. I keep saying that ABO books are my guilty pleasure but there’s zero guilt here. This is so well written, full of suspense and action, and is much more of an, “oh no some smut got in my plot” read than most of the genre. I am super excited to get on to the next one and see how the packs relationships continue to develop especially with Valek because ARE YOU KIDDING ME???

I’m loving this story. It’s a story of finding love even in the worst places, circumstances, and unlike people. Also fighting against an oppressive system and government.

I really enjoyed the first two books in this series but I’m not sure I’m going to read the next. The characters are compelling, each with a distinct voice (both on the part of the author and the narrators), and the world is intriguing. The prose flows well. I’ve been fully entertained and invested in the stories while listening.

But there are also plot holes and backstory inconsistencies. And the spicy scenes in both books have felt kind of abrupt, and then aren’t really referenced outside of those scenes?

I’ve still really enjoyed them but it makes it hard to follow along, and I’m worried about whether or not the conclusion to Ivy and the Ghosts’ story will be satisfying. But the 3rd book is in KU so I might try to read it that way anyway.

I like the story and the characters but the female character is annoying in this one. She second guesses and doubts everything. Wish she had more courage and hope in this book
