Wow! What a captivating read! It had me hooked from the first chapter. Yes, this was a hot read but it was so much more, I felt the varying emotions that Daphne experienced as secrets were slowly revealed. The setting, a castle in the highlands of Scotland with various passages and hidden walkways, was certainly atmospheric. As for Adam, Lord Hartmoor, what a complex character, not someone you would easily forget. Darcy Stark used varying voices to bring the characters to life and had an easy voice to listen to.

This is the first time a book has made me blush since I was 12 🤣

The book had a really good story, plus it was very hot and spicy - hooray!. It was a happy-for-now instead of a happily-ever-after, and the ending was on a positive note, although many ends were left dangling. Looking forward to the second book.

This delicious story of a man with a deep hatred for the family of Daphne Fairchild is read wonderfully and with the male voice reading this Adam's words and emotions will jump out and surround you and suck you into their world. Magnificent story and darkly read gets my 5 stars!
