Lori Boone has always been unapologetically and shamelessly himself.
Petite, with soft curls and plump lips, he's often underestimated. Until he parts those lips and the sassiness comes out. He thrives in uncomfortable situations and plots petty revenge in his free time. Facts that don't change even when he starts working for a prestigious law firm and under Gabriel Reed, his best friend's brother-in-law.
Tailored three-piece suits, perfectly styled blond hair, demanding presence, and cold stare. My boss. Ugh.
Well, he's my boss's boss's boss, so I don't see him much. But when we do cross paths... nothing. He barely acknowledges me despite my repeated attempts to get under his skin. I'm head-turning gorgeous, catching his sharp, silver eyes shouldn't be this hard.
I don't hide my deep dislike for him, and my outrageous antics should get me fired, but they barely illicit a reaction. Everything changes after I stalk him—it has become a hobby of sorts—and end up drugged, desperate, and in need of rescue, only to be saved and more by... Gabe!
I know. Bonkers, right?
Even more if you add to the mix my tendency toward sexsomnia and his multiplicity, things that set our worlds on fire.
I always thought I'd never settle for one man. More than one? Too crowded. But what if two men share one body? They might be exactly what I need.
This is not a sci-fi angel story, unless you see eager vigilantes with a dark side as angels. This is an action-packed, dark, enemies-to-lovers romance with an HEA. It features an impish, unapologetically sassy, persistent twink and an unfazed, controlled lawyer boss with multiplicity.
Morality's grey area is quite stretched in this story. There is one dub-con scene between the MCs when one of them is drugged, and a scene with sexsomnia. There is also violence, blood, torture (only of very bad people), dark humor, a band of foster brothers ready to help, and very bad driving.
This is book four in the Angels of Wrath series. Each book follows a different couple.

On the blurb it says that Five contains a dub-con scene but in my opinion it is definitely non-con as one of the participants is drugged and not able to judge the situation and therefore can't consent. I also wasn't impressed by some of the family members making fun of the victim right after it happened. Sociopath or not.
That being said, I enjoyed Lori's and Gabe's dynamics, much because of Lori's unapologetic and sarcastic personality. Gabe's multiplicity was also very intriguing. I thought he felt authentic but admittedly, I don't know the first thing about neither DID nor multiplicity. It was a bit OTT how he let Lori behave like a toddler at work, even before they admitted having feelings for each other, but then that's not the only OTT situation in this book. Heck, in this series. 🤪
Something my brain got stuck on: I find it highly unlikely that Lori would be able to stalk someone in his car, seeing his driving seems to be more suited for Mario Kart. With all the honking people were doing and his own honking and tires squeaking, he wasn't exactly stealthy. 😂
As a sucker for found family I also really like how the other brothers and their partners are such a big part of every couple's story. Who the person in the white mask was was quite obvious, even before it was revealed. I bet we are going to see more of them in the next book.
While I didn't enjoy this book as much as the first two, I did feel that it picked up again after the last one.
Oh, and cliffhanger alert! The end was so emotional! Hopefully it won't take too long until book five, Sariel's and Uriel's story, is being released as audiobook.
