I’ve read every book of this series and have found them very entertaining and sensuous. Yes, there is the fantasy but I felt that overall, they were very well written. That said, I do have a few problems with it.

I like the fact that the first one was “free,“ but I did not like having to pay extra for the other ones. True, they were only $2.76 per book, but I think that could have been better handled.

I don’t know why Cobra was thrown in there, and I felt that that volume was pretty much useless. I purchased it before I realize that it was only 30 minutes long, but obviously that’s my fault.

And now we get to the Duchess. I really don’t understand why this one could not have been a complete wrap up. This did not end with an HEA, and I felt that it was sloppily completed. It was firmly stated that this was the last book of the series, so it looks like nothing else is going to happen to clear it up. That is too bad, because this could easily be extended into a more complete series. There are way too many loose ends for any reader to feel satisfied after having spent time and money listening to the series.

The performance was not good at all. With the heroine of the story being an African-American female, this voice was totally and in every way inappropriate. It was almost insulting. Of all of the Audible books I have listened to, this goes at the top of the list for the worst choice of a narrator in any book.

This could have been made better by clarifying who the father of the unborn child is, wrapping it up neatly with a really good and heartwarming HEA, and using the narrator from the other stories to keep with consistency. This one volume alone caused disappointment with all the other ones!
