Resumen del Editor

Chaz

Rafael is the best friend-with-benefits a guy could ask for, but I had to go and screw it all up by falling in love.

Everyone gets sick of me eventually. My birth parents, the endless conveyor belt of foster homes, even the band that became my family. Why should Raf be any different? When he wants to take our friendship to the next level by welcoming me into his world of collars and pet names that make me feel wanted and cherished, I know it can’t be permanent. No matter what he says, there’s no way someone like him could actually want me forever. But I’m going to enjoy pretending for as long as it lasts.

Rafael

I spent so long pining after my best friend, I didn’t even realize the perfect guy was right under my nose.

Chaz is an adorkable goofball who’s kept a band full of hotheads from melting down on numerous occasions, and he and I are perfectly in sync in and out of the bedroom. Turns out he’s also a natural submissive who just might be the pup I’ve always wanted...if I can convince him this thing between us is meant to last forever, and not just be a one-hit wonder.

Collaring Chaz is a surprisingly sweet M/M rock star romance loaded with angst, band drama, contractual pup play, a cinnamon roll MC struggling with mental health and addiction, and a dominant rock god who saves him.

Love the story

Unfortunately changing Dante’s accent kind of threw the story off! Otherwise it was a good book. Love Chaz and Raf.

wrong narrators chosen

I know that a lot of people had issues with one of the narrators, but I think, with the right recording situation, Tiwanek could do justice to another genre. He's not a bad narrator, but something about the recording quality and this particular story-with all its dark and sexual content-was a perfect storm of awkwardness. I think Tiwanek could read children's books much more effectively. he would probably be great, actually.

It didn't help that the contrast between the two narrators was so stark.

I'm actually a huge fan of Michael Dean, but I think he was the wrong choice for this book as well.

Finding out that Chas had been experiencing schizophrenia the whole time was a bit of a shock when he hadn't been showing the signs of it. I would have been able to buy bipolar disorder due to his bouts of mania, so it was a weird twist. This book definitely made less sense than the first one.

Good book and story, but bad narrator!

I liked the storyline, book and the author. But the narration of Chaz was so bad I got a headache from listening to him talk and read. Tiwanak was a really bad pick for this book with his high pitched voice and that sadly makes it unlikely for me to recommend to anyone else. Just read the book instead of listening to the audio if you are interested in this book.

Bad narration hurts solid writing

Solid follow up to the first book aside from the narration which is somehow worse. Wish I'd just read the ebook.

Tiwanak's performance as Chaz makes his character sound fully nonsexual, and it's really out of place. His enthusiasm sounds like he's a kid having fun at the playground, not an adult getting aroused by the sex he's having. Maybe it's a pup roleplay thing, idk.

Raf also sounds much older than he should, older than Cash or Drake even, but it's more bearable at least because his emotions aren't too out of step with the character.

Writing is very good as erotica goes. The idea of a hard rock band being as popular as pop idols in 2020 is dubious, and those aspects make it sound 20-40 years out of date, but it's easy enough to suspend disbelief to enjoy the fantasy. Also enjoyed the positive portrayal of Schizophrenia and how accepting the characters were of it.

Disappointing performance

The series is engaging and exciting but the performance is really hard to get past. Definitely not the right voices for the characters I envision in my mind.

Great book!

I was so happy for Chaz and Raphael to get their story! I was a little disappointed in not seeing a whole lot of pup play, but it had a great story line! I especially love how it got into mental health disorders by the end. I look forward to reading/listening to the next books!

Aww Man....

This story was engaging. I wish I'd read it. The casting was terrible. Totally took me out of the story. It was a struggle to listen to this and I wish I'd returned it.

These voice actors are talented but these characters don't lend themselves to these actors strengths... I'm a fantasy buff and I'd love to hear one voice an elf or a self assured young wizard and the other voice a fun loving dragon or a lascivious bard. Akward intonation and over the top emotion can be apealing in Fantasy stories. I wish this had been voiced by actors such as Liam Decosimo, Kirk Graves, Michael Leslie or Greg Boudreaux.

Also, changing voice actors between books was jarring.

The story trumped the cringy narrator

I loved Book 1 of Dante and Chase’s story so was eager to listen to how Chaz and Raph’s love story played out. The story was so good I couldn’t put it down in spite of the cringy narration. Michael Dean’s rich voice kept me happy enough but Kaeomakana Tiwanak was all wrong and difficult to listen to. On top of that, the British accent for both Dante and Drake was horrendous, and why are they British again? There’s no mention of that background anywhere, plus Dante had no such accent in book 1. The 3 band members grew up together in the States, for goodness sake. But, as I said, Joel Abernathy wrote a lovely story. Can’t wait for Book 3.

physical description of leads

would like a much more vivd description of the main character,s physical attributes, i.e. penis sizes and a direct comparison of them, testicle sizes and a direct comparison, biceps 💪 descriptions and comparison, chest hair yes or know and direct comparison, pec description and hairy or no, abs description and hairy or no, armpit description and hairy or no, definitely need to know which main character has biggest biceps, pecs penis teaticles and whether or not they hang or tight against the body

KT's narration isn't for this kind of book

KT is probably great for kids stuff--his voices aren't bad, just more like a teacher "doing the voices". When a sexy 6'4“ rocker sounds more like jolly old St Nick, it just isn't working. Joel's stories are always solid, as are Michael (Pauley) Dean's narrations. I wouldn't listen a second time.
