taboo romances usually aren’t my go to but brutal conquest was so good! the story line and build up was all timed so well. zanya grew up a mafia princess, and learned the ropes with the help of kristian! keep in mind that this taboo tale is that he is her uncle so if that’s not your speed or you cannot handle that level of taboo, i would stay away. but if it is, then you will devour this like i did!

both narrators were new to me but they portrayed their characters so well! i love to see new and upcoming narrators in more books. always feels like a breath of fresh air.

This is the second book in the Brutal Hearts Series, a Mafia Forbidden Romance. Zenya and Kristian's age-gap taboo romance is slow paced, passionate, and dark, filled with danger, violence, action, and twists and turns. Kristian is enigmatic, dominant, jealous, possessive, obsessive, and protective. Zenya is strong, and sassy. Their push and pull relationship definitely is toxic, and intense! The supporting characters are interesting. Leanne Woodward and Bryant Walker did a great job bringing this story to life. #PFPAudio

I feel like I shouldn’t have liked this book as much as I did because of the topic but here we are. This is a taboo age gap romance that pushed my boundaries on what I will accept from the taboo side of the smut world. That said the author did a great job weaving this story together. I enjoy mafia romance an this had a different feel to it than others I read. I also loved the FMC so much!

The narration was good. I thought Leanne Woodward did will with Zenya’s chapters. Bryant Walker was a little too breathy in Christian’s chapter, but I liked how he did the characters otherwise.

I listened at 1.85x.

Age gap forbidden romance . Zenya is a strong, female, character. At 18, a Mafia princess, she has a lot of responsibility and learned to grow up fast. Her "Uncle" Kristian taught her how to protect herself, and to take over her father's business.
She had a strong emotional bond with him. This story was exciting , hot, sexy and oh so taboo.
Leanne Woodward  and Bryant Walker tell this story  with emotion . They both made this an interesting story to listen to

This was my first Lilith Vincent audiobook and it was captivating. The storyline was super taboo. There were certain things that were not cup of tea, however the elements of the bratva added a thrilling and dark twist to this forbidden, age gap romance. The narration was incredible. These two narrators are new to me voices and they did a wonderful job bringing this story to life. I look forward to reading more from this author.

The taboo isn’t TOO taboo. The story doesn’t get TOO dark, there’s a good story behind the smut. I really would’ve preferred this in a duet vs a dual narration. And I wish production could’ve done something about the sharp intake of breath being so loud during the MMC POV - it’s very distracting. His voice is pleasing and I enjoyed his portrayal, but the FMC didn’t have the same issue, so I can’t tell if it’s a post production issue or a mic problem.

Either way, the story was good, the spice was salacious, and there was just the right level of taboo to be entertaining without being off-putting.

This book was different and a little taboo but it works! The forbidden love story was great and the sex scenes were hot AF. Lilith Vincent did not disappoint! The narration was really good as well.

This was a fun, fast-paced read that took some interesting approaches:

First of all, it was refreshing to read mafia book where the family actually likes each other—I’m so used to betrayal, people s3lling off their daughters, and things along those lines that this was unexpected throughout. I kept waiting for things to turn much darker, and they really didn’t. Props to Vincent for showing this totally *can* work in this trope—I enjoyed it!

As for the steamy bits, she manage to pack a lot of k!nks into not a lot of space and still pretty much made it feel natural. You’d think it’d look forced, reading that, but it really didn’t.

The pseudo-inč3st thing took a bit of getting used to, but it really did work well, ultimately. There’s a bit of action and suspense, a lot of drama, strong family vibes, lots of loyalty and wholesomeness on this front and a fair bit of vi0lence. It also manages to be sweet in just the right moments—expertly woven.
