I am attending a book event next month, and this is one of the authors that will be attending. I haven't read anything from her, so I thought I would give it a go. I personally love the modern fairy tale romance stories. Of course, Beauty and the Beast is one of my favorites. I am not sure why the other reviews on this book are low. I thought it was a pretty good story. It's not majorly unique in terms of the typical daughter with gambling deadbeat father owes lots of money, and she trades her freedom to save him from the beast loan shark. But for me, that's why we read these stories. There is plenty of spice. Some BDSM themes in the story. I haven't listened to anything by this narrator, either. I felt he did a decent job. I certainly enjoyed the story and listening to him read it. Overall, I am not unhappy with the purchase and look forward to meeting the author.
