I’m Tanner Reed, a former Marine Corps Sergeant and the author of What Lies Beneath the Fallout, the first book in The Last Safe Place Chronicles. My training drilled one thing into me early: Plan for the worst. Pray for the best. I’ve seen enough in life to expect failure, betrayal, and disaster, but that doesn’t mean I ever stopped hoping for something better. That mindset? It’s shaped how I lead, how I live… and how I write. This series was born from years of “what if” talks, not the casual kind. The late-night, worst-case-scenario, no-cavalry-coming kind.
