Stacey Cochran was selected as an honorable mention for the 1998 Dell Magazines Award. In 2004, his novel Culpepper was selected as a finalist for the St. Martin’s Press/PWA Best First Private Eye Novel contest by the late Ruth Cavin. His short stories have appeared in CutBank and North Carolina Literary Review. Between 2006 and 2011, Cochran’s fiction The Colorado Sequence, Claws, The Kiribati Test, Chromosome 4, The Loneliest, and In Love with Eleanor Rigby became some of the most digitally downloaded in the world. In 2011, he was a finalist for the James Hurst Prize for fiction. In 2015, his novel Eddie & Sunny was one of the first acquisitions by Kindle Press via Kindle Scout. Production of the film version of Eddie & Sunny was completed in October 2020 starring Gabriel Luna (Terminator: Dark Fate) and Joanna Vanderham (Warrior). Stacey is an Associate Professor at the University of Arizona, where he received his PhD in 2022 studying education policy and cultural change theory to support human potential, self-actualization, and socioemotional well-being.
