In 1st grade, Rachel wrote her first book (she still has it). In 7th grade, she got an old MS DOS operating system computer in her upstairs closet-room, and spent her free time writing. In 10th grade, her writing teacher put a lot of red marks on her papers. In 11th grade, her history teacher asked if she would publish a short story... she ignored her. In college, she made a lot of questionable life decisions but kept writing. Now, a husband and three kids later, writing is still her guilty pleasure... minus the guilt. When Rachel is not writing, you can find her slogging through the rainy Pacific Northwest, cleaning teeth as a sometime Dental Hygienist, and conspiring to drag the three kids she shares with her husband into the wilderness or across the ocean on an overseas adventure.
