Michael has been married since 2004 to Alicia Rowntree, whom he met while studying in Scotland. They have four kids: Anna, Hudson, William, and Molly. He loves to think deeply, read widely, and laugh heartily. His hobbies include playing golf, drumming on the djembe, and sharpening his Spanish with native speakers.

Michael has been in ministry for over twenty years. He is the Lead Pastor of Convergence Church—a “church of house churches.” Michael is also a co-host on The Remnant Radio, which educates and equips believers in God's Word & Spirit, exploring Christian theology, church history, and the gifts of the Spirit. He ministers in conferences all around the United States.
