MEREDITH SANDLAND is the CEO of Empower Delivery, a software company that enables restaurants to take complete ownership over their delivery destiny. By combining the consumer, product and driver journeys into one integrated process, the software orchestrates the activities of each into a coordinated effort that reduces cost, increases consumer satisfaction, and adds joy to the restaurant workplace. Meredith believes listening is core to leadership. She listened to some amazing entrepreneurs to write their stories, and the story of the endlessly innovative restaurant industry, in the first Delivering the Digital Restaurant. She now shares the ongoing story of digital disruption through The Digital Restaurant podcast, a bi-weekly show discussing the implications of top news stories in restaurant technology and delivery. Meredith spent two decades in consulting, corporate strategy, and restaurant development. After building 1000+ restaurants as the Chief Development Officer at Yum! Brands’ Taco Bell, Meredith observed that the on-demand economy was starting to affect restaurants. She joined ghost kitchen start-up Kitchen United as employee #4 to create their business model, raise initial capital, and serve as the public face of the GV (Google Ventures) backed disruptor.
