Mark Quann grew up in the cold weather of Canada in a blue-collar family. His father was a brick mason, and his mother was a stay-at-home mom. At times, they struggled to put food on the table, and growing up in the “poor neighborhood” offered little opportunity.

Frustrated by the lack of financial education in school, Mark began asking his parents, “How do I make money?” Before long, they nicknamed him “Money Mark.”

Growing up, Mark disliked school and reading, and much of his education came from the school of hard knocks. Although he attended college to study business and financial advising, he left Canada for sunny California in 1999 in search of the American Dream—buried in credit card debt and student loans.

After more than two decades of investing, studying how money works, and helping others build wealth, including 13 years as an Investment Advisor Representative (IAR), Mark has become a recognized financial educator, entrepreneur, and bestselling author.

His first book, Rich Man Poor Bank, was released in 2014 and teaches “What the Banks Don’t Want You to Know About Money” while providing a practical 10-step plan for financial security. The book is available in print in both English and Spanish.

Mark’s second book, Top 10 Ways to Avoid Taxes, was released in 2018 and teaches many of the same legal tax strategies used by wealthy families, investors, and business owners to build wealth and reduce taxes.

Both Rich Man Poor Bank and Top 10 Ways to Avoid Taxes were later released as audiobooks.

Mark’s third book, Top 25 Ways an IUL Can Secure Your Financial Future, teaches how life insurance can provide tax advantages, permanent protection, asset protection, long-term care benefits, and access to low-interest, tax-free loans—allowing families to build wealth, create liquidity, and access capital without triggering taxes.

Mark’s fourth book, Be Smart Pay Zero Taxes, became an Amazon bestseller and challenges many of the traditional beliefs promoted by the financial industry. In it, Mark explains how ordinary Americans can use many of the same strategies utilized by wealthy families, including the Buy, Borrow, Die strategy, to build wealth, reduce taxes, create passive income, and pursue financial freedom without relying solely on traditional retirement accounts.

In 2019, Mark founded REMIi Group, Inc., a company focused on delivering custom-tailored financial strategies to business owners, the emerging affluent, and high-net-worth individuals.

In 2020, Mark and his team launched The Perfect Portfolio, a financial education company dedicated to teaching wealth-building strategies rarely taught in schools or by traditional financial institutions. Drawing from the same principles he used to become a multi-millionaire, Mark has helped more than 1,000 Americans learn how to invest, reduce taxes, create passive income, protect assets, and achieve greater financial freedom through his books, courses, and mentorship programs.
