Chief Warrant Officer Five (Retired) M. Struemph is an award-winning author, keynote speaker, and advocate for trauma survivors whose mission is to help others transform pain into purpose.

During her 32-year military career with the Missouri Army National Guard, she became the first woman appointed as the State Command Chief Warrant Officer, serving as the senior advisor on warrant officer matters for the Adjutant General. Throughout her career, she championed leadership development, founded the Missouri Army National Guard’s first Warrant Officer Advisory Council and Women’s Mentorship Council, and served as president of the Missouri National Guard Association.

A lifelong athlete, Struemph represented the military in biathlon and military pentathlon competitions across the United States and internationally, earning recognition for both athletic excellence and leadership.

In 2024, she published her award-winning memoir, Living with Trauma, Finding the Light Again, a deeply personal account of surviving childhood trauma, military sexual trauma, abuse, and moral injury. Through her writing and speaking, she encourages honest conversations about trauma, resilience, healing, and hope, reminding others that our stories can become a source of strength—not only for ourselves, but for those who are still searching for their own light.

Today, Struemph speaks to military, veteran, healthcare, corporate, and community audiences across the country. Whether addressing a room of survivors, healthcare professionals, leaders, or advocates, her message remains the same: healing begins when silence is broken, courage is shared, and no one has to walk the journey alone.

She lives in Missouri with her family and continues to write, speak, and advocate through Finding the Light, LLC.
