Hello, I'm Lin Amherst, and I'm thrilled to share my life's story with you. From my early beginnings in Potsdam, Germany, where I was born on June 3, 1948, to my current adventures as an author, my journey has been a tapestry of experiences and personal growth. As a young child, I embarked on a voyage of discovery when my family moved to London in 1952. It was there that I first fell in love with storytelling and the power of words. In 1955, we moved once again, this time to Southern California, which became my home for many years. Graduating from high school in Glendale in 1966, I was ready to embark on my own path. Following my passion for design and business, I enrolled at Woodbury University. In 1969, I proudly graduated, equipped with a degree in Interior Design and Business. Little did I know that this knowledge would later play a significant role in shaping my writing career. In 1969, I took another leap of faith and got married. For the next decade, I worked side by side with my husband in a cabinet shop, discovering the beauty of craftsmanship and attention to detail. These hands-on experiences instilled in me a deep appreciation for the artistry that goes into creating something remarkable. Life is full of surprises, and in 1984, I transitioned into the fast-paced world of real estate. Guiding clients through the intricacies of property transactions became my forte, and I reveled in the opportunity to connect with people on a personal level. Throughout my real estate journey, I discovered the power of storytelling as a means to engage and inspire others. Seeking a change of scenery and a slower pace of life, I moved to the enchanting countryside of Fiddletown, California, in 1988. Surrounded by nature's beauty, I found solace and inspiration in the peaceful landscapes. It was during this time that I started nurturing my writing ambitions. While exploring different professional avenues, such as car and furniture sales, and even insurance, writing remained a constant thread in my life. In 2013, I retired, allowing me to dedicate more time to my true passion—writing captivating stories that touch hearts and minds. In 2016, life took another exciting turn when I moved to the vibrant community of Pahrump, Nevada. Here, I found new inspiration and an invigorating atmosphere that fueled my creativity. Embracing new opportunities, I remarried, and together, we embarked on new adventures. When I'm not lost in the world of words, I indulge in my hobbies, which include traveling, going on cruises, enjoying motorcycle rides, immersing myself in a good book, and staying fit through the Senior Sneakers program and Tai Chi. I also find solace and joy in nurturing my garden, a sanctuary where I can gather inspiration from nature's boundless beauty. Today, I'm humbled and grateful to share my stories with you. As an author, my goal is to transport readers into worlds filled with imagination, emotions, and unforgettable characters. With each book I write, I hope to leave a lasting impression and inspire others to embark on their own journeys of self-discovery. Thank you for joining me on this incredible adventure. Together, let's explore the magic of storytelling and celebrate the power of words.
