Kevin Carson has combined a lifelong interest in history, military history, tactics, and the stories of those caught up in desperate struggles. Kevin is particularly interested in the history of the West and can often be found perusing old manuscripts in libraries and bookstores. He continues to explore his own family's participation in pivotal military campaigns in U.S. history. Kevin always wanted to write a book about the Nez Perce War. He and his wife married and lived in Joseph, Oregon. The reminders of Joseph and the Wallowa band were everywhere. Two of Carson's great grandfathers, both paternal and maternal, lived on the Nez Perce Trail. The Long Journey of the Nez Perce is his first book. The author explored the rivers and mountains of the Pacific Northwest as a young man and now enjoys mountain hikes and fly fishing. He lives in Idaho with his family.
